Fire_rescue_18 0 #1 Posted August 27, 2009 :thumbs2: Anyone know if these lil tractors are worth doing a total restore? It has been in the woods for 20 yrs. My Dad used to pull me around with it when I was a kid. I just wanna know a little about it. Motor tag reads H-60 75182H ser# 0012 07372 The side panel tag under the hood reads Mod L157 ser# 280915. It even has a deck!!! I took pictures and will have em soon!!
perry 82 #2 Posted August 27, 2009 being its been in the familyfor so long i would restore it. yours should be a 1967 http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?showtopic=1134 here is mine
Rollerman 290 #3 Posted August 28, 2009 Perry has you covered on the details, so all I can add is. The L157 Lawn Rangers are not rare or generate the enthusiasm that the other "round hoods" get. But don't knock them, Lawn Rangers are a lot of fun. Since it was your fathers I would want to save it regardless...maybe pull your kids around with someday. Lane Ranger 11,377 #4 Posted August 28, 2009 Fire Rescue 18: I am in Greencastle up the road from you and have two 1967 Lawn Rangers one L157 and one L107 (without battery and electric start -its just a recoil). Let me know what kind of parts you are looking for and I have one old H-60 that is in parts but restorable. Lane
Fire_rescue_18 0 #5 Posted August 28, 2009 I have decided to do a full restoration on her! I posted a link in the "items wanted" section of the classifieds because I will be needing lots of parts. A steering wheel would be rather handy at this point since mine is broken!!!
Fire_rescue_18 0 #6 Posted August 28, 2009 What's everyone's opinion on the current H-60 rebuild it (its ROUGH parts available??) or repower it with a small kohler?? bitten 134 #11 Posted August 30, 2009 A Wheel Horse from your father is very well worth saving. It sounds like you are getting a team that will help you on it. Redsquare is a great place.
