Wayne0 1,174 #1 Posted April 14, 2024 I have a 78355 42" Recycler deck. The blade # is 14-4879. When researching this, I come up with 2 blade widths. 2" and 2.5". Which is correct or does it not matter?

8ntruck 7,799 #3 Posted April 15, 2024 The effective cutting diameter of rotary mower blades is measured on the diagonal from the tip of one cutting edge to the tip of the opposite cutting edge. A 2 1/2" wide blade will have a slightly larger cutting diameter than a 2"wide blade. The spindle offsets in a 42" recycler deck should leave enough room between blades to use either width blade.
