K-181 Throttle

What is the normal amount that the throttle cable should come out from idle to full throttle on a typical tractor such as an 857, or 875? My 875 that I just replaced the cable on only moves about 1/2" from idle to full throttle. Seems to me that the old cable (when working) moved quite a bit more.

Does your cable hook directly to the throttle wheel or does it hook to an arm sticking off from the wheel?

I had one small block that the cable hooked into the wheel, it had a real short movement on the cable. I actually welded an arm on to the wheel to get more throttle cable movement.

It's just a wheel, no arm. I'm thinking most of my others have the arm. I don't weld. Guess I'll have to find one with an arm.

Let me know Bob, I have one. I'll just trade you for yours and weld one on it later to put back on the engine.

I can mail it or bring it to the show

WHX??

The ones with the arm seem to operate smoother given a good cable. Also there is more throttle range than just idle or WFO.

I modified mine like this. No welding needed. :)

Making the cable a bit longer helps too.
