753 front tire options

Recommended Posts

fourwheelhorseman

My left hand front tire on my 753 has no less that 4 plugs in it, it leaks air as fast as I put it in. Anyhow, not knowing anyone around my area that collects wheelhorses, oem is most likely out of the question. What’s a good option for a replacement front tire other than a tri-rib. I’m wanting to go for the original tread design if possible. Thanks!

If you plow with that 753, AG tires up front are a good choice - better steering in the snow.

I’ll most likely never plow with it. It’ll be a garage queen.. 😉

I did think about that and may do that, but I’d sure like to get a replacement. Ideally, I’d like to find one used in someone’s barn..or even a parts machine.

An original style tread will proabably mean a 50 year old tire.  What with age cracking etc yo would probably want to tube it also...

Not counting the plugs, how cracked up is the tire you want to replace?

I'd put a second vote for installing tubes.

I put tubes in ALL the tires we swap nowadays. Old reinstallation or newly mounted off the shelf.

It’s bad man… I THINK the plugs are an attempt to fill in big cracks. I’ll take a few pics in a bit

Goodyear stopped making those around 50 or more  years ago. Save yourself some problems and buy two new matching 4.80 x 8  4ply tires.
