wfopete 15 #1 Posted August 26, 2009 I recently bought a C-111 with a 42" RD deck. The blades are shot though. Deck number is MR01-30773 Model 1057? The center blade is loger than the other two. What are the good blade sources out there? Are OEM or gee whiz blades the way to go? I did a search but I'm having trouble finding the correct P/Ns. Some day I'm going to dig up some old cross referance manuals but they are probably out dated. Thanks.
wfopete 15 #2 Posted August 26, 2009 Oppps! Time out! I cleaned the tag and got a better look. Now it's an 05-36MR01-30773 with a 1057 beneath it. Wait a minute MR36? Where is my tape measure? Dog gone it, I've been flim flammed! This isn't a 42" deck, it's a 36" deck! I was only six inches off. Ok, how about sourcing blades for a RD 36" deck? Sparky-(Admin) 23,099 #5 Posted August 26, 2009 Pete, go here, https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/index.cfm and enter your deck model# ( 05-36MR01 ) . This will give you all the part#s for anything you need for the deck including blades. Mike...........
Nick 13 #6 Posted August 26, 2009 You might try www.glenssurplus.com They are also down in the vendors section. Looks like a set of 3 aftermarket blades is $25 plus shipping.
wfopete 15 #7 Posted August 27, 2009  Thanks guys! I thought that 11hp Briggs was pulling that 42" deck too well! I'm building my Wheel Horse favorites sites folder now so I won't have to ask so many questions. But I have yet another: How do you go about building one of those sweet chrome stacks for the exhaust? I have an 11 hp B&S motor on this horse. I think a red horse outfitted with a subtle(?) chrome exhaust stack accented with the appropriate chrome wheel covers would be beautiful. I'm going to the mods form to search now for the answer.
Doubletrouble 10 #8 Posted August 27, 2009 I think I speak for more than myself. I don't have a chrome stack.....yet, but this is what mine looks like:
CasualObserver 3,411 #9 Posted August 27, 2009 How do you go about building one of those sweet chrome stacks for the exhaust? Many people use the long section of a P-trap kit from the plumbing section of your favorite hardware store. They're usually available right off the shelf in Chrome. Just cut off the threads at the turn. Others have used stainless steel or chrome exhaust pipe.
wfopete 15 #10 Posted August 28, 2009 What?!?!? All right, all right. I may have been dumb enough not to know a 42" deck from a 36" deck but do you really think I'm gonna fall for the 'ol "Exhaust made from a sink trap" line? :ychain:
linen beige 15 #11 Posted August 28, 2009 What?!?!? All right, all right. I may have been dumb enough not to know a 42" deck from a 36" deck but do you really think I'm gonna fall for the 'ol "Exhaust made from a sink trap" line? Question the Lord? He's NOT kidding. His picture of the complete plumbing trap assembly might have fooled you. The only portion of this assembly you need, as Lord Hellmutt said, is the long pipe (the one that goes into the wall when used as a trap). Cut the threads off of the short end that's bent and clamp it to a short nipple installed in the exhaust port of your engine. Poke around in the pics section and you'll probably find several tractors piped this way.
wfopete 15 #12 Posted August 29, 2009 With all due respect to any and all that have done this; I won't. It just invokes to many opportunities for non-horse men to make jokes. Look guys, I'm from Arkansas and I can't even fathom putting something like that on my Horse. I'm going to purse a better way, but not necessarily cheaper. linen beige 15 #13 Posted August 29, 2009 How do you go about building one of those sweet chrome stacks for the exhaust? Find a piece of thin wall tubing and have it bent at 90 degrees near one end. Then have your local plating shop give it the shine. Either pre-fit a mounting flage to it or clamp it to a close nipple screwed into the exhaust port and, with all due respect, Voila! Everyone will think you used a chrome plumbing trap pipe to make a stack. Please don't take this as a slam. I assure you it is not. You've probably already seen quiet a few on several different brands of tractors and thought they looked really nice (they do). But that was before you learned what they were made out of. I hope you never learn that lipstick and other make up contains the ground up slaughtered animal parts that aren't used as food (listed in the ingredients as "animal matter"). It might spoil your fun.

Hey, who's knocking the sink drain exhaust, I think it spruces up the C-160 don't you? Well, this will have to do until I can get a good Nelson Muffler..... stay tuned..... :scratchead:
