Has anyone ever machined the engine block to mount a dip stick to the side like they do from the factory ?

I would like to mount a kohler wheelhorse dip stick tube, "the one that has three small screws to hold it to the block"  by machining the side of A narrow block K321 to mount it.  this looks possible has anyone ever done it ?
