on a c-120 go to start it the solenoid clicks is it time for a new one.

Probably there is nothing wrong with the solenoid, There may be a battery issue or a cable issue.

Battery, cable , starter or connection issue most likely. Best way to check is to take a voltage reading at the battery and work your way to the starter with the key in the start position checking for voltage loss.

Another thing to check is make sure the solenoid has a good ground. I have seen where the ground is weak and the solenoid will click. But because of the weak ground the solenoid coil can't carry  enough current to close the contacts.
