squonk 43,689 #2 Posted January 26, 2024 (edited) @earlleecliffton PM sent Any Napa or Farm equipment store can make them Edited January 26, 2024 by squonk
lynnmor 7,783 #3 Posted January 26, 2024 A local hydraulics store MIGHT be able to help. Depending on model, Wheel Horse used #5 ORB fittings which are mostly obsolete. Lowell uses parts that are readily available but may not fit as well as original because of the bulk.
squonk 43,689 #4 Posted January 26, 2024 (edited) You can use a #5 to male pipe adapter to a swivel hose pipe thread female hose end. Or a flare adapter which is what I did on a GT-14 I had. https://www.discounthydraulichose.com/sae-straight-thread-orb.html Edited January 26, 2024 by squonk

I understand that, but I said “bulk” because it becomes a rather tight and miserable installation on some models.
peter lena 9,231 #6 Posted January 27, 2024 @earlleecliffton, have any truck stops in your area ? related service ? another thing about a hydraulic layout is to lay it out with , room to move , areas , eliminate chaffing tight spots . we also always , had a check valve on each end to hold fluid in a solid tube, for easy , hose swapping . was talking to a local garbage truck driver , spotted the , quick disconnect , hose ends , on his truck lift arm . bingo ! he had a rebuilt spare lift arm , that was a quick change out . thats how you plan ahead for maintenance. pete

During last year’s hydraulic project, I was able to find #5 hydraulic fittings online fairly easily. I also have an “investment” of accumulated and now-unused fittings of different sizes, shapes, etc. These were the result of “trial and error” as ideas of the best way to go didn’t pan out--mostly because of clunkiness or not having enough room. One thing I learned was that custom hoses can be had--exact hose composition, exact length, exact desired fittings at both ends--even with #5s. My budget didn’t extend that far. BuffaloD200 51 #9 Posted January 29, 2024 (edited) FYI...the Eaton Weatherhead part number for ORB#5 is 04Z-P05. Gates is G25120-0405 If you've found you stumped your local parts guy, that'll help. Edited January 29, 2024 by BuffaloD200
