Cassie 8 #1 Posted November 30, 2023 I have 1990 wheel horse 520h with 48 inch mowing deck, with 15 5/8inch blades, the manual says the blades should be 16 inch. What are the actual size blades for this mower?
8ntruck 6,463 #2 Posted November 30, 2023 The blades are measured on a diagonal - from the outer tip of the blade diagonally to the other outer cutting tip. He length of the blade as measured on the centerline will be shorter.
Ed Kennell 36,011 #3 Posted November 30, 2023 If the blades have been sharpened many times. the effective cutting length does decrease. As 8n stated, you have to measure diagonally from corner to corner.

tbear853 58 #7 Posted December 9, 2023 (edited) 16-1/8" here, the offsets of the spindles grants the space so they both overlap in cutting, without possibly striking each other. I've been using "Gator Blades". Edited December 9, 2023 by tbear853
