pimpo 6 #1 Posted November 18, 2023 So what is the correct temps one should be seeing on a kohler K series engine when using an infared gauge? What place is the best place to check on the engine? Spark plug? If so, what is the temp range it should be at? Should I bother with a spark plug temp sensor and if so what would I be looking for? I have a K341 for reference. Thank all for your time. JoeM 7,787 #2 Posted November 18, 2023 I really never found the need to check the head temps. I only check the exhaust pipe where it come out of the head and check that after running hard. 700 to 850 is a good number. when they get close to 1000 might be a leaning out issue.
RED-Z06 2,150 #3 Posted November 18, 2023 On my K241 mowing with a 42" deck, 90⁰ ambient, ill see 280⁰ at the plug in 4" of grass...governor slung to 100% load. Normally ill see 260s just mowing more normal grass, and just running full throttle 210s. Really a pretty pointless thing to watch but its interesting
