JimSraj 338 #1 Posted November 15, 2023 I’ve been using an e tank to clean up various metal parts for a while. Latest is wheels from a 1267 that were pretty nasty. What you’d expect from a set of rims over 50 years old. Check out the buildup on the anodes. Grease and oil on the part will slow down the electrolysis by coating the anodes. I try to get that stuff off before dunking. JimSraj 338 #5 Posted November 15, 2023 The anode pictures were from the second wheel first trip thru the tank. I had cleaned them up once after the first wheel was done. The crude comes right off and yes, it definitively rejuvenates the process. I’m on the look out for a more powerful charger to speed it up though. No need for a manual charger. Use an AC to DC converter as a power source. I do a general scrape of of the heavy stuff. I also use a 10am 24v power supply that really helps it cook. It rarely draws over 5 amps.
