brodi3man 0 #1 Posted August 18, 2009 Not a wheel horse i know but hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have a 72 economy powerking w/ 14hp kohler when first starting, it doesn't like to stay running. I start it, back it out of the garage and it starts stahling out. I then have to baby it with starting fluid and work the throttle for a few minutes then its fine. Any thoughts on what is causing this?
WHC-125 4 #2 Posted August 18, 2009 I would start off with taking the carb off and cleaning it out really thoroughly and putting fresh gaskets in it and test it out. Also, a fresh plug as well and it should fix the problems you are having because it seems like the carb is gunked up.

stevebo-(Moderator) 8,040 #5 Posted August 19, 2009 I have the sister machine however it is a 1969 with hydro lift. I agree with Chris that you may have some gunk in the carb bowl. These machines are just powerhouses-I love mine !! I am having a three point installed on mine as we speak. Good luck-
