hotajax 209 #1 Posted October 24, 2023 (edited) Clutch doesn't engage until pedal is almost at the top. And then it sort of lurches if I'm not careful to really feather the clutch. It screeches momentarily if I engage the PTO too quickly. Adjust clutch or replace? Engine 314-8, Series K321 While we're on the subject of possible replacement, is it necessary to replace the needle bearings when replacing the clutch disc? Thanks, gents. SylvanLakeWH 24,155 #2 Posted October 24, 2023 Have you assessed adjustments of the rod? Start easy and make adjustments to it to make sure it's correct. Also assess pulleys. Are they smooth? rusted? bent?
TonyToro Jr. 1,163 #3 Posted October 24, 2023 Also maybe check belt tension? Belt could be too loose and clutch idler could be out of adjustment and really causing that slack in the pedal.
