OutdoorEnvy 1,432 #2 Posted September 16, 2023 Sounds like your gas cap vent is clogged. Blow it out with compressed air. Possibly replace if it seems broken. But you can test this by loosening the cap and seeing if it starts right up. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
ri702bill 7,346 #3 Posted September 16, 2023 Possible bad coil. Use in inline spark checker - leave it in place. When it dies - crank it and see if there is spark. Had a K161S basket case engine given to me years ago. Had worn piston skirts - made a piston slap noise..... Anyway, You could set your watch by the repetitive time the coil would heat up & die.
