Floor board fix

Recommended Posts

Hello all.  Have been working on a buddy’s 1998 312-8. Has the new type floorboards with the heavy molding attached.  I noticed the brake pedal is setting way forward.  After checking, the front part of the board is bent down , causing this.  Just can’t believe how much thinner these boards are.  Does anyone know if the older boards will retrofit or if there is another solution. Thanks all.  Dominator

Got any pics Dom?    I can't understand how a bent floorboard can interfere with the brake pedal.   Is the 3/4" dia. support rod bent?

I’ll post a few when I get back to the house.  Looks like part of the pedal has a projection that bears against the board. I think the picture will show it.

I welded a 3/8" rod under my 312-8 floor boards  after I hammered them back straight. They were always bending when I stepped on them, I'm only around 180#

They were all bent when I bought it . They are solid  now when I step on them. If you need to reinforce te front , I would weld a piece of 1/8" flat under the bottom.

here’s a few pics, pedal has aprotrusion that seats against the floorboard.  In this case, the board is bent down. I guess to answer my own question, resend and add some reinforcement.  Thanks all, Dominator
