Multi colored 120

Hello all,, getting ready to begin the process of redoing my original c-121.  It is a 1978 1 owner original.  Tractor was always kept inside, never in the weather.  As I have given it a complete bath and it’s dried, I am seeing a lot of it is almost orange!  The engine is very noticeable, a lot of the tins are either faded or a slight orange color.  What’s puzzling is that other pieces. Ie the floorboards, console under the steering wheel are the correct red.  Has anyone noticed this before?  Thanks, Dominator

Yes, from time to time. For the most part, WH did not prime the parts prior to painting. Red is a rather translucent color - depends on how many coats are on the part as to the final color.

If you use a primer - a light colored one will give the final color a lighter tone.....
