Dominator 67 #1 Posted August 13, 2023 Hello all,, getting ready to begin the process of redoing my original c-121. It is a 1978 1 owner original. Tractor was always kept inside, never in the weather. As I have given it a complete bath and it’s dried, I am seeing a lot of it is almost orange! The engine is very noticeable, a lot of the tins are either faded or a slight orange color. What’s puzzling is that other pieces. Ie the floorboards, console under the steering wheel are the correct red. Has anyone noticed this before? Thanks, Dominator
ri702bill 7,391 #2 Posted August 13, 2023 Yes, from time to time. For the most part, WH did not prime the parts prior to painting. Red is a rather translucent color - depends on how many coats are on the part as to the final color. If you use a primer - a light colored one will give the final color a lighter tone.....
