Nathan W 5 #1 Posted August 8, 2023 I have an auto 16. What is the difference between the 73 auto 16 and the 74 75 c 160? Can a end loader be used on the auto 16?
Pullstart 66,692 #2 Posted August 8, 2023 They had a few changes in the names and nomenclature during some company sales and changes, but for all intensive purposes they were basically the same machines.
oliver2-44 10,711 #3 Posted August 8, 2023 Yes a front end loader can be used on an Auto 16. It will need a subframe for the loader

Nathan W 5 #5 Posted August 8, 2023 Since the 341 is on the 82. Will a m18 pancake motor fit on the auto 16 with hood modifications? I would like for this tractor to be used with an end loader. I got the motor off a Yazoo

I would like for this tractor to be used with an end loader. I got the motor off a Yazoo The forward angled steering tower and narrow hood are a challenge. Wheelhorse didn't have a Twin until the steering tower was straight vertical and the hoods were much larger. On the 1977 and older the Twin engine may have to set forward to allow proper alignment of the PTO Bell. Kohler twins can be made to fit in the older C Series if: 1. Relocate the battery. 2. Raise or modify the existing hood. Maybe both. If your intention is to build a front end loader tractor my inclination would be to use the 14 or 16 Kohler single cylinder. You don't need the extra HP of the big twin 18 and it'll create a lot of extra work.
Bill D 2,247 #7 Posted August 10, 2023 The M18 should fit fine in the GT1142.

I was kind of thinking maybe take the K341 off the GT 1142 and put the M18 in there.

Unless the engine is Wheel Horse spec it won't handle the side load from the PTO without failure.

Nathan W 5 #12 Posted August 10, 2023 Nice. I was looking the difference is the gas tank is under seat. Battery is located where 73 tank is. Thanks guys.

Thor27 835 #15 Posted August 11, 2023 I'm not sure you would even need a pto for a loader, your just turning a pump so just a pulley would do.

Kohler made stub shafts that bolt to the flywheel. Some of the tractors with inline engines like the Ford LGT 120 to 165. So a pump can be mounted there with a tensioner and will always be pumping and the relief valve working. If you put the pump on the PTO side and use it you can turn the pump off when your not using it. All of this also depends on what direction the pump turns.
