Nathan W 5 #4 Posted August 8, 2023 Thanks I have 2 73 no name. The 14 and 16. 75 b100 and 82 gt1142. Briggs blew. Put a k341 on it. Only wh I have that's 8 speed. Wheelhorse didn't have a Twin until the steering tower was straight vertical and the hoods were much larger. On the 1977 and older the Twin engine may have to set forward to allow proper alignment of the PTO Bell. Kohler twins can be made to fit in the older C Series if: 1. Relocate the battery. 2. Raise or modify the existing hood. Maybe both. If your intention is to build a front end loader tractor my inclination would be to use the 14 or 16 Kohler single cylinder. You don't need the extra HP of the big twin 18 and it'll create a lot of extra work. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Unless the engine is Wheel Horse spec it won't handle the side load from the PTO without failure. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Kohler made stub shafts that bolt to the flywheel. Some of the tractors with inline engines like the Ford LGT 120 to 165. So a pump can be mounted there with a tensioner and will always be pumping and the relief valve working. If you put the pump on the PTO side and use it you can turn the pump off when your not using it. All of this also depends on what direction the pump turns.
