520h trany looks wrong

Recommended Posts

S416-8

Working on my 520H and this looks to be the wrong transmission. On it is stamped 111201. Thinking the old owner swapped it out image.jpg.9eb28604b2c6671c8e7bc26bc0ea9470.jpgimage.jpg.ee25afb6ff8adedf507538d3dfe026a1.jpg

Looks like the correct Eaton 1100 to me?

Looks like the same tranny on every other 520-H.

I'm not sure how well WH kept any castings serialized. I wouldn't let the numbers bother much.

Of course it is possible the transmission failed and was replaced. But if it works I would use as is!

I do have 1 black and 1 red hub so they must have been changed so maybe that is the issue? I am at least 1" closer hob to housing on the 520 than I am on the 416.. now I know why there were spacers behind the wheels that cam on it..

This pic is as built by WH red hubs against tranny. This is a 91 ,not sure if the later models were black or just replacement ones ?

Here is the rear end of my 520H that I am currently fixing up.

The hubs are up tight to the rear axle.

They are on all of my other Hydro machines as well.

It has the wide rear tires as well with no interference issues.

ok thank which I thought was right and when I looked at tire size for a 92 it says that they should be 23x10.5-12 but they rub the seat pan...that is why I started to question these.

Also, I just picked up a cab for it and see that you have the rear brackets mounted.. any pics of how the frame mounts attach it the front.? Thanks

If your tires rub then the only thing I can think is that you have wheels with the wrong backspacing.

23x10.5-12 is the size most of mine are as well.

Even room for chains.

Just get some 5 on 4.5 spacers.

You'll have yo get some different lug bolts, and ream your wheels by 1/16 to the 1/2 stud size, but you'll never look back at OEM bolts again!

The reaming out to 1/2 won't make your wheels unsuitable for WH bolts either.

thanks guys so many things that can be done with these... I have a set of new wheel horse wheels ready for me to grab so I hope that solves the tire size issues..

Hopefully a few pics will give you an idea how it goes. This was removing the cab. @S416-8
