wingrider 21 #1 Posted August 9, 2009 bought a C160 Auto with hyd. lift and the little cylinder leaks really bad. It might of been a good thing because its been sitting for almost 30 years, with hyd. oil all over everything under it. The belt under the guard on the deck is completly full of oil, grass clippings, and rat nest, there was no way the belt would even turn, so today I took it apart to clean it up but with the cyl leaking its going to do it again. I just went thru 16 pages of posts on attachments but found no info about repairing the cylinder, are there parts available to rebuild it, or can it even be rebuilt. Waiting for Help! Thanks Gary B
rustbucket 4 #2 Posted August 9, 2009 if i recall there was a post somewhere on here about the cylinders before and what i have come to know is if its a solid style where the one end looks welded on you'd have to carefuly cut all that weld off and remove the top find a hydraulic shop that dose cylinders and fins out the packings and O-ring sizes and get them then rewelding the cylinder would be a pain as it has to be done almost perfectly to seal it and keep it from breaking under preassure. bitten 134 #3 Posted August 9, 2009 I would get the Wheel Horse manual for cylinder repair. I dont think your C160 has the one peice cylinder tube and it wouldnt be that hard to repack it. If it seems like out of your skill you might want to look at e-bay, seems like there is allways one or two up for action. Good Luck.
