Troy 1 #1 Posted August 7, 2009 Ok, 3 weeks ago... 0 Wheelhorse's... today 2 ?? I don'y know what model I am guessing a C-161? I got it for free. It ran last year the guy said but it is not now. It is a hydro so it is VERY hard to push!!
nylyon-(Admin) 7,227 #2 Posted August 7, 2009 Looks like a C161 to me too, great to have 2 isn't it?
nylyon-(Admin) 7,227 #4 Posted August 7, 2009 The 78 and 79 both had that same spec engine, so you would need to find the model tag to figure out the exact year, but for free it's a bargin! Check for spark / fuel and start er up!
can whlvr 993 #5 Posted August 8, 2009 Real nice for free,if that 16 runs good you wont be able to stop it :thumbs2:
Bow_Extreme 544 #6 Posted August 8, 2009 The ID tag should be right under the dash, right below the key area and controls.
TJ 172 #7 Posted August 8, 2009 Nice tractor. :thumbs2:
bitten 134 #8 Posted August 9, 2009 Im not sure on the C's but there should be a relief valve that you can open to make it push better. You can hurt the hydro by pushing it otherwise.
Troy 1 #9 Posted August 10, 2009 Hi guy's I got the tractor ID ID# 81-16KS01-06481 8088 Engine # 16 HP Kohler Model # K341As Spec# 71246a Serial # 9042269 I was wondering where to start? It does not run so that is what my first priority is. 1. Carb rebuild kit ( Anybody know where a good place to purchase?) 2. oil change 3. ? 4. ?
Sparky-(Admin) 21,254 #10 Posted August 10, 2009 I wouldnt get right into a carb re-build just yet. Make sure the engine oil is up to its proper level and then get a good battery in it, get all the old gas out of the tank and refill and give it a crank. It might just surprize ya and fire up. If it does fire up do the engine oil change after its warmed up as the oil will flow out much better and more completely. Mike........
Electro12WH 50 #11 Posted August 10, 2009 The hood stand on that is interesting. It's a newer style.
TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #12 Posted August 10, 2009 The hood stand on that is interesting. It's a newer style. That's what the '78/'79 C series tractors have. (C-81 - C-161)
gwgdog66 23 #13 Posted August 12, 2009 Troy, According to your Model number it is a 1978 C-161 Automatic. You can look up parts for it here: https://homeownersolutions.toro.com/portal/...ductDetailsPage
