Can you cut the center of a rear rim out and adjust the backspacing or the offset or will it damage the rim to much.

Yes it can be done. Will it damage it? This is solely dependent on your skills.

WHX??

Might be easier to get rim blanks & centers & make your own. Or look for rims that have the offset you are looking for. Many other brands have different offsets.

I don't think these are Wheel Horse rims because of the center of them.

The off set looks correct in the pictures, might be off a little. If they fit the tractor with out rubbing I'd run them.

The only thing I don't like is the center of the rims are different than the Wheel Horse rims.

They look good from here. Keep in mind that the farther off center you go, the weaker you can make the wheel.

You might be better off using hub spacers to get the back spacing "effect" you're looking for.

You can see the black spacers below. 5 on 4.5 pattern. Just make sure the opening in the center is the same as the wheel- About 3.25 inches. You will have to ream the wheel bolt holes larger to 1/2 but it won't make them unusable with OEM bolts if you go back to those.

I'm not seeing the difference. Almost all garden tractor wheels are made by only a few companies and other than offset and valve placement, they are mostly the same.

I've put my Murray wheels on the Wheel Horse 512-D without any problems. The backspacing might be different but I really did'nt check and the wheels fit fine.

The only difference is Wheel Horse chose to run the wheels with the back side out and the valve stem on the inside.
