New to me 312-8, need help ID'ing it as well as owners and service manuals

Hi All,

 

I just got a new to me 312-8 last night.  How can i ID this thing to figure out the year?  Also where can i get the owners and service manuals?  I've searched on here and they all appear to be parts diagrams more than anything.  Thanks

From your photos it appears to be about a 1990 +/- a year or two.  If you lift the seat there is a sticker with a MODIL Number on it. Click on "BROWSE" on the top bar of this or any other page, then click on "MANUALS" then type in your MODEL Number and check the box that says "FILES". That will give you a list of all manuals associated with your 312-8. Operators' manuals will be abbreviated OM and service manuals SM.

When you want to add a picture to a post it is best to go to the lower left corner of the post you are making, click on choose files   and it will take you to your photo filed on your device, select the photo and click on open, it will be magically transported to your post.

the problem im having is its missing the sticker with the ID tag

From 1987 to 1997 the same Kohler spec. number M12S-471527 engine was used. Some of the decals changed and the seat style changed but most things remained the same. The photo I showed you is of a 1990 ans shares the same decals and seat style as yours. Have you read the replys to your other post on the same topic?
