Got the 1054 turning over

Recommended Posts

I have had time to get back on my 1054 the passed couple of days so I installed a coil and wired the machine to factory specs. I have it turning over but no fuel is pumping to the carb. I have rebuilt the carb, installed new lines, fuel filter and cleaned the tank and sediment bowl.  I have an electric fuel pump that I can install but need to know where to connect it. With the split key switch and starter button ignition where  do I wire it in? Thanks for all the help and suggestions!

Try sticking your palm over the carb and rolling it over until your hand gets wet.  It might just need a hand (pun intended) getting the system primed. :handgestures-thumbupright:

It’s a trick I use far more often than I care to admit.  When you got half as many horses as Uncle Jim and 1/3 the time, it happens

If you find you still need to install the electric pump, you can use the hot wire from the coil to power the pump.  Make sure to use a fuse.  Ask me how I know…

Used to do the same with the worn out POS 56 International Half Ton I learned to drive on. If it sat too long un used, it would loose prime. A real "treasure".... when ya only got 6 volts, ya don't have a whole lot of cranking time....

I tried it once on my C10.  I flattened the air cleaner!

I will try the hand over the carb and if it doesn't work I will install the pump off the coil with a fuse.
