Installing new choke & throttle cables on GT 14

Recommended Posts

Some time ago I posted this question and to my knowledge I never got a workable solution so here it goes again. I purchased a new throttle and choke cable among other things from an adverser on Red Square. If any of you have tried to install them you will find that there is a very thin nut on the back side that must be tightened to pull the chrome bezel up tight against the inst. panel. There is virtually no room to get a wrench, socket, crow's foot wrench or any other tool I know of onto that nut without taking a lot of parts off. They were installed at the factory while the tractor was only partially assembled when it was easy to get them on but once the tractor is completed it is almost impossible to get them on. Has anyone out there come up with a solution since I posted this maybe a year ago?

I don't have a GT14, but can you get a thin wall deep well socket on the nut?Gorilla Thinwall socket
