Thompson1276 257 #1 Posted March 20, 2023 I have a 66 856 that I put a HH100 off a Raider 10 in it’ll run and be fine and btw I only have the starter hooked up right now no other wiring the ground to the SSI is grounded to the side of the block , but I can run it and she tops at about 25 mph and is bookin it and I run her as my race tractor and when she cool or barely ran it’ll start back up again but anytime she runs for a while all spark gone and no way to get it back again the electric coming from the magnets inside behind the flywheel is completely lost until I change the pickup thing it goes to then the power comes back again and a DMM dosnt tell me it’s bad I swapped it out and does fine and gapped the pegs to .20 like a normal engine I always have on these tecumsehs im personally a small engine mechanic but I don’t know why it keeps failing on me I swear I’m doing everything right but I could be wrong but this is now my 3rd one im on if anyone could help me out or leave tips let me know because I only built this tractor not long ago I’m glad I had spare parts but now if I need a new one I need to buy one because I’m out of spare parts to fix it Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
953 nut 58,530 #2 Posted March 20, 2023 Perhaps the solid state ignition module is overheating. Could it have a crack that opens up when heated. Check it with your meter at room temperature and then put it in a preheated 200 degree oven for a few minutes then check it when hot. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I don’t know but if dosnt work at all the coil it’s reading .519 DC for all the wires and for Ohms is 1.0 from ground to feed back Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
