Heavyhand 11 #1 Posted February 23, 2023 Hey guys! New to the forum. Restoring a 1967 Lawn Ranger with a H60. The laminates on the bullhorn are bad and I need a good working unit. Does anyone have a source that might have new in box? I know it is a long shot, but thought I would ask

Heavyhand 11 #3 Posted February 23, 2023 Thank you. No spark on her. Needs a new stator assembly. I would take a flywheel also if anyone has one!
Terry M-(Moderator) 2,172 #4 Posted February 23, 2023 Could it just be a bad coil?
Heavyhand 11 #5 Posted February 23, 2023 (edited) Coil tested good. Condenser tested good. Good ground. Points replaced. Took it in to get a second opinion and they came up with the same thing. Previous owner sanded the laminates on the stator ruining it. Mags on flywheel ok also. It puts out spark, it is not enough volts to run. 953 nut 54,842 #7 Posted February 23, 2023 Since you have a battery starter on your Lawn Ranger you may want to convert to a battery powered ignition system. http://overnight-solutions.com/Index_Files/TSSS System Information.html

Let me research and see if this is an option.

(no pins in a H60) This package is designed to replace a bad Techy Solid state unit.

Good Luck on you r search they are a hard find. Maybe you can find a junked H60 HH60 buy the whole thing for a few bucks and hope the stator is OK..That is not the usual cause of Techy complete failure... 2
pfrederi 17,580 #12 Posted February 23, 2023 If you strike out you could use a 30561a stator assembly they are a bit easier to find. You would lose your charging system. My Father bought my L107 in 1967 and was to frugal to spring for electric start. When I got her I added a starter motor no charging system,. Use her as a chore tractor several days a week year around. Put the battery on a charger every couple months she starts fine...been doing this for 20+ years now. 2
