truckin88 104 #1 Posted July 23, 2009 anyone ever use one of these, is it similar to a 5xi. It says you can use the classic attachments http://www.toro.com/home/tractors/400xt/419xt.html
kpinnc 14,398 #2 Posted July 23, 2009 It's a vertical shaft tractor, designed completely around the use of "previously purchased" WH implements, just as you said. Not nearly as rugged as a garden tractor, but still a nice machine. There are a couple members here who have owned one, and maybe they can chime in and give you some more info. Nick 13 #3 Posted July 23, 2009 When those came out there was some mention of an adapter/conversion kit that was needed to use classic attachments. I never saw one so cant say what it consisted of. :thumbs2:
kpinnc 14,398 #4 Posted July 24, 2009 I guess I should have worded my response differently. The XT series lawn tractors were promoted by some of the dealers as being capable of using older implements. My explanation was a poor choice of words. You could say I was repeating what a dealer told me.... :thumbs2:
refracman 167 #5 Posted July 24, 2009 I have a 03 417xt. Only the deck is a direct swap. A classic plow wil fit but you will need the extention and handle kit for the 520 to make it work, or a XI plow. I bought it new and has around 230 hrs on it with a 48 deck and am useing a 1977 42" plow from a C120. Its nice to drive and comfortable, qwik turning and the Kaw motor has so far been very reliable as has the rest of tractor. It takes about 2 hrs to mow and I get around 3 cuttings on 5 gallons. I am glad I bought and if I had to sell the herd one of the last to go.
