Great write up! Good luck on the project.
Agreed with repairing the deck. I dropped off a deck at a welding shop for one rot hole and one crack repair…was happy and surprised to see a bill for about $100 when I picked it up. Much cheaper than a new (or used) deck!

That deck looks good compared to mine when I got it. I cut the top off and made and fitted a new one out of 2mm plate I think it was. Used the old top as a template for all the holes.

Yeah, it's only gone through around the rear mounts so shouldn't be too hard to sort out. I like the sound of what you did though.

Evening all. A small update for you.

I picked up the panels from the blasters yesterday. Pleased with the finish & the patina.

Not so pleased with the Swiss cheese that was once the cutting deck.

I'm not sure what the plan will be yet, to be honest it still has its integrity so I could just 'glass it all up but we'll see.

I prepped the hood/bonnet/engine cover myself & shot a bit of primer on

I should point out the reason I did it myself rather than getting it done with the rest was just to try and tidy up a few dings as I can think of nothing I like more than doing bodywork..

It was definitely NOT because I forget to put it on the pickup when I took everything else up and couldn't be bothered to make another 90 minute round trip to drop it off. Honestly.

Thank you for looking, Dan.
