True, but I'm positive that there will be more problems down the road, there Always is.    

 

It's a life long skill to know how to use an be able to diagnose problems.

So i had a friend diagose a bad transistor circled here.  He replaced it, and the bulb works as it should.  so I'll leave it a day and see if there's any parasitic drain on the battery after a day or so.

Excellent!

 

You might consider a 'conformal coating' for the board in order to protect it in the future.  You can buy small containers of it on Amazon and elsewhere.
