rallysman 0 #1 Posted July 18, 2009 I have a K301 that I recently replaced the started on. I got a used starter from someone but the gear on the end of it was bad. I replaced it with the gear off of my old one, and it worked great the first couple times but I noticed some metal shavings last time. I took it off to see what's up and it's chewing the gear up. Luckily the flywheel looks fine. Is there a way to properly shim these or is it possible the housing I got is just junk?
