D series muffler

Recommended Posts

tommyg

Anyone know of a suitable aftermarket muffler for the D-series? I've seen suggestions of a Stanley that would fit, but they don't make that one any longer either. I've searched high and low. I want to keep the original look as much as possible. Thought of cutting one down to size and rewelding, but that's kind of where I'm at. I'd rather not, but if that's my only option, I'd give it a try.

You say "one" here, does that mean you maybe have the D160 with the 16hp K241? with the single muffler....

FWIW, here is one of my D's with the twin Cub Cadet mufflers in a 'stack' setup. Along with me, many of the owners of these old tractors go to an alternate setup and this muffler is popular - its relatively inexpensive - or was before this latest price gouging - and very adaptable. The original D mufflers are virtually non existent (NLA!:()

Jim, these are pretty sharp. And solid looking. Are they quiet? I want to keep the stock look as much as I can and these accomplish that. What would you charge to put together a pair for me?

Yes, what tractorhogg said. For one or both? Also, what's the turn around time? (Not that I'm in any hurry, just wondering). And does the 150 include shipping or would that be additional?

$150 for both mufflers and that includes the shipping to the lower 48 states , turn around time is 2 or 3 days , but since right now i have 3 ft of snow to deal with it might take an extra day

Hey Jim! I just saw couple post about you making mufflers and was wondering if I could purchase one for my 94’ 520-H. I am new to the forums here and it wouldn’t let me PM you.
