Snoopy11 5,718 #2 Posted November 8, 2022 (edited) Is there any way that you could specify what problems you are having? 2575702s is a basic kit for the M18 to my understanding. https://bolenspartsandsupplies.com/kohler-engine/2575702s-carburetor-repair-kit-k301-582-m12-20/ If you want an easy out... you can buy a whole new carb from IST... https://isavetractors.com/carburetor-for-kohler-mv16-m17-m18-mv18-m20-mv20-kt17-kt18-kt19/ Don Edited November 8, 2022 by Snoopy11 Forgot link
krose 2 #4 Posted December 11, 2022 I have a 800 special which was stored for 20 or more years. Has a 1973 B & S engine model 190434 which replaced the original engine. I got it running but the carb leaked. Cleaned and put carb on engine, still leaks gas. I noticed when I disassembled it for cleaning that there was no neoprene seal on the needle and seat. The needlle seated directly on the brass seat which I have never seen before. Is that normal for this model?
pacer 3,177 #5 Posted December 11, 2022 Dont know about that particular engine, but I have seen needles in both configurations - with neoprene and just metal. How is it leaking? slow drip around carb bowl? or? If the needle isnt seating then the engine may or may not run, if it runs would be badly with lots of black smoke and crappy running. If just dripping from around bowl and still runs well, then the rubber 'ring' gasket that the bowl fits against is probably the culprit, especially if the engine has sat for that long a period - dry rotted or hardened.
23 Reo 229 #6 Posted December 14, 2022 Krose, Clean the carb thoroughly. Get a rebuild kit so you can replace the worn parts and seals.
