Anyone dealt with the Gentleman who is on craigs list?  Looking for muffler for Kholer M14 and other misc. parts.  Just wondering if worth the trip from Catskills of NY as it appears he does not ship items.

Thanks

:WRS:

Seems strange that he is selling but won't ship parts.       :confusion-confused:       With today's "E" shopping there isn't much you can't shipped to your door.

I understand his reluctance to ship. Unless you have an abundant supply of boxes, packing material, and the desire to go to the post office every day, shipping can be a pain. I have a bunch of stuff that I'd sell if shipping were cheaper. An 8-speed transmission is worth about $150.00, but shipping it makes it unreasonable. I guess he figures that bringing all his wares to the big show once a year is enough. If you want to come pick something up, that's okay with him.

all you have to do is call him with a list and let him know before you go.he can have things ready for you.he will ship small items but engines and transmissions you have to go pay the freight for shipping.

Shipping large items can be a hassle in some area's and easier in others. Fastenals in my area are all fulfillment centers now. Can't even walk in and buy a bolt. You have to call and most of the time you get a voice mail. For years the local branch personel have been almost clueless. I had to build a rack for refrigeration equipment a few years back and needed parts and pieces like angle brackets ect. They wanted me to go online find all the part #'s for them and e mail them a list. Then they would e mail me back when the order is ready. Stuff is sitting in their bins and they want someone else to do all the work. I avoid Fastenal like the plague now

Tried shipping an 8" garden plow with UPS. Got an estimate of $500!!!

If I got a large item for sale and someone wants it. Either come here, meet part way for fuel money or wait until the show.

Wild Bill in VA

Glenn Cockerham is one of the best to deal with period! I myself have shown up at his place at 1:00 am and purchased a Wheel Horse and if anyone doubts this story just ask Glenn.

Haven’t bought anything from him yet but he told me he has a 6 speed trans for $200. Said it ran when it was taken out of the tractor. Seemed a bit $$$ for unknown commodity?  Maybe I’m just too tight!
