Need help with a B&S 8hp

Finally, getting around to tearing this thing apart and this is what I found this afternoon after work. I purchased the new gear, but I held off on the control arm. not sure if that’s what I would need. Looking back at the pictures that you posted. It seems they are different unless there is just a new design and I am missing something. Appreciate all the help and thank you very much looking forward to getting this thing running!

I got the parts. Likely won't be able to mess with that for a bit. 

Pole barn is nearing completion so we'll be spending time moving workshops around.
