Brockport Bill 1,933 #1 Posted October 7, 2022 i have 2 two c175 tractors -- with the Twin Kohler engines --- a Series 1 and a Series 2 engine ---- I want to do carb rebuild on both or replace carbs ---- one is Walbro carb on Series 2 with no visable indentification numbers -- ( have not removed it yet so maybe i will find i.d. numbers later )..................... I am not sure mfg of the second carb on the Series 1 but has 2 numbers on it of 5205311 -- as well as 5247805. -- I can of course rebuild or get new carbs????? Any suggestions for rebuild kits, or new carb replacements, best sources, costs, etc? thanks
Jeff-C175 7,206 #2 Posted October 7, 2022 I'm watching because I plan to clean up the carb on mine. Starts and runs at speed just fine but won't idle.
Achto 29,388 #3 Posted October 7, 2022 Looks like there are only 2 different rebuild kits for the 2cyl K and M models. http://www.psep.biz/store/kohler_carburetor_parts.htm
Jeff-C175 7,206 #4 Posted October 7, 2022 (edited) Thanks Dan! I a bit puzzled about the listing though. The pics look like the same thing, but there may be a difference in the float needle / seat. I'm suspecting that the nnnnn-01S is for the Carter (so it says), and the nnnnn-02S maybe the Walbro ? Did the K30x series come with both / either at different times? Actually both of those numbers are for Carter carbs, Kohler 2575711S is the kit for Walbro carbs. Edited October 7, 2022 by Achto 2
Jeff-C175 7,206 #6 Posted October 7, 2022 (edited) Found this at OPE From my research it appears that the 02S kit is for the KT17, but I'm not certain... Edited October 7, 2022 by Jeff-C175

From what I gather, the only difference between the two kits is the float needle seat. This is the one in the 01S kit: This is the one in the 02S kit: I think that the KT17 series I and series II used the same carb kit. 25 757 02-S Edited October 7, 2022 by Jeff-C175

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,471 #11 Posted October 8, 2022 That carb manual can be confusing until you figure out the info spans 2 pages wide in it's original printed format.
