mr haney 0 #1 Posted July 14, 2009 Man,I need help. I have 211-4 ( about 1985) that runs good untill the engine heats up, then starts cutting out intetmittently. I have gone thru the carb and lines and tank twice. My Question-- what kind of ignition does this have? Points and condensor or solid state? It seems to be braking down under heat. Anyone? thanks, mr haney
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #2 Posted July 14, 2009 The original Briggs engine on the 211-4 has the Magnetron ignition which does not use points or a condenser. I would recommend checking the valve clearance as the next step in diagnosing the problem.
