Replacement carburettor?

Recommended Posts

Where’s the best place to get a replacement carburettor for a Kohler K301AS?
Theres lot advertised on eBay but I’m told by collectors here in the UK that they’re rubbish - cheap but nasty.

Where would I get a good replacement?

Presuming yours has not been run over by a steam roller I would suggest rebuilding the one you have, the results will be much more satisfactory. Kits are only about $ 5.00 in the US on :techie-ebay: and the rebuild is easy to do. This site will give you more than you need to know on rebuilding the carter carbs found on :wh:  http://gardentractorpullingtips.com/carbfuel.htm

Agreed.  Nothing but good luck with Norman’s stuff here.  I think the prices only look expensive when compared to those being charged for the junk-o stuff.  I really like that he’s making them in Maine!

Well that’s news; I thought they were.  Oh, well, that’s one more disappointment to throw on the pile, I guess.  They do work well wherever they come from.

Do not fall for a cheap ebay carb. We bought one to put on our 48 farmall cub and i could never get it tuned right...ever. Either it would flood on low RPM or lean out when you were pulling it hard on the high end.

Ended up rebuilding the stock carb and it runs like a top.
