Suburban 550 28 #1 Posted July 12, 2009 For those who didn't make it to the show here are a couple of pics of my 702 before and after I restored it over the winter months. I was fortunate to find a beautiful square pan seat for it at the show with what looks like the original cover. After some engine woes and belt issues it's a real good runner. A big thank you to all that helped me through some tough times. Before Restoration: After Restoration with new square pan seat and cover:

Suburban 550 28 #8 Posted July 13, 2009 Thanks guys for all the comments. It was a long hard road with that tractor which started out as a brush painted 502. The before pictures are deceiving. The Kohler motor in the before pictures was installed right before I tore it apart for paint. After painting and reassembly was done the Kohler developed a bad knock which ended up with it being torn apart again and a rebuilt engine being sent from Duke in Niles, Michigan. I got the engine installed Memorial Day weekend and in my haste the drive belt ended up being a little short and glazed over during the parade at the Wheel Horse Show to the point it wouldn't disengage. Fixed that problem at the show with a new belt and everything seems good as of now. :thumbs2:

JonW 0 #14 Posted July 16, 2009 I got the engine installed Memorial Day weekend and in my haste the drive belt ended up being a little short and glazed over during the parade at the Wheel Horse Show to the point it wouldn't disengage. It wasn't the glazed belt, I think she was so proud she didn't want to stop. :thumbs2:
