Guys,
My poor old 416 is still not firing all the time. This is a basket-case wired 1992 machine I picked up years ago. PO, (not the one who hay-wired it), was using a jumper at the solenoid to fire it up. After trying to fix, jump, replace, clean, trace back and pray for a holy intervention, I am putting a 20 amp starter push button on it! (Dash Mount so it looks decent). The PO who is a member here also tried without success getting it to fire at the switch reliably but failed. (Amperage drop when the key is turned. All it does is click with each key-turn. After 10 to thirty key turns, it rolls over. Sometimes less, sometimes more and sometimes nahda!
It will be fine with a push-button starter and I don't care anymore about appearance! I just need it to run for me when I need it to run. (The original owner bypassed one of the two relays, cut into the OEM harness, rerouted things. The battery, solenoid, starter, keyswitch, working relay, safety switches, harness ends......hell, just about everything else on it has been swapped out or changed for new or near new so lets not delve into what is wrong with it, here is my question and you'll think I'm stupid for asking but..................................
What two places on that solenoid do I run my wires to jump it directly?
Would like to do it today. My mother's house is my mowing responsibility and the 310-8 I keep down there is now out of order and I need one there at the ready! I'm afraid that 92 year old woman will try to mow it by hand and I can't have that! :< )
Thanks in Advance!
