Predator Engine for 1967 Lawn Ranger
Dkphillips posted a topic in Restorations, Modifications, & Customizations
While restoring my 1967 Lawn Ranger L157 I made the decision to install a Predator 122cc engine to replace the Tecumseh H60 (listed for sale in the "For Sale" section). If any of you have done this please give me some ideas of how to handle the gas tank cap problem. The hole in the hood of the Lawn Ranger is of course not lined up with the Predator gas tank and that wouldn't matter anyway as there is no way to loosen the cap with the hood so close to the top of the tank. And removing the hood each time to fill up does not sound like something that I want to do. At this time I have not yet installed the Predator as I have not had time and I am still pondering how to handle the gas tank problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. -
I have a lawn ranger with either a k141 or k161 kohler on it, and it is really far gone(engine). I would like to put something else in it, rather than a kohler because wiring isnt exactly my specialty, i was thinking of a number style briggs like a 14 or a 19. Is there enogh space under the hood, and will i have to do any modifying of the chassis to get it to fit? And most importantly, do you guys think it will work well, and do you approve?
