I have a 416-8 Wheel Horse with an Onan Performer 16 engine. I've had it since new, purchased in 1990 +-. It recently back fired and just quit. I am trying to figure out if it is fatally wounded or can be saved. Plan on a compression and leak down test as a first step in my plan to save it. Question is how much compression is needed for the engine to be functional and what would be the guidelines for a leak down test. Thanks ! Great site. John
