I’m not a fan of brite shiny white rims at all, but the factory linen beige or almond color in my opinion does look great. This is my “patina” Commando with almond rims.

Gray primer and then a coat or two of clear on this one. I was real happy with the look!

When I was about 5 years old my Pap used 2x4 blocks and duct tape to make the pedals on his wheel horse reachable for me. He had something like a B100 8 speed. I loved that tractor. I drove it non stop. Fast forward about 25 years and I’m on the search for one that me and my son can ride around on. (He’s 2) my sons first word was trac-ta. He absolutely loves tractors. Of every kind. We have a little husqvarna right now but we need something a little more up to the jobs we do. I’d like to make memories with him and the son I have on the way like my pap did with me. I’ve been looking around for the right tractor and I’ve found one near me that has the snowblower, wheel weights, and RD deck. My question is what are the main things to look for when buying a B100

Ok I'll jump in on this one ... before & after. I wanted patina rims but all the 6-12's I have are full of holes and I just couldn't go with PO paint job! This patina is beyond nice Dells! If those wrinkles in the hood could talk!

The front wheels are shiny and new, does that count?

Here ya go Kevin. I like the weathered look with black wheels, but white can look nice too!

That's our own @Vinylguy Terry. Give him a call and get the answer right from the horses mouth. See what I did there? A horse joke. On a horse forum. Oh man I'm hilarious..... Seriously though..... Call the man himself. Awesome guy. He'll be more than happy to help you.

Same tractor with different rears. Sorry the hubcaps weren’t cleaned up better to give them some more shine.

I got the okay! It worked! She likes the black ones the best, but they’re all cool!

Thanks Jim, @WHX22. This ole gal lived one rough life before I got her. I did have to blend in a little red to bring back a little color to her. I just couldn’t bring myself to paint it up and fix those wrinkles. They tell a lot about how she was treated!

Look at that old sun baked paint. Just can't bring myself around to repainting her. Hard working 1964 1054

I have had questions over the years on clear coat subject. Things to consider? 1. Is this going to be a worker? If so then I recommend not clear coating over decals The graphics have a clear laminate over the solvent uv resistant inks and will not fade for a long time. Most Horse-A-Holics never store their restored horses out in the weather so longevity is not a consideration. If you should scratch a decal o a tree or shrub you can easily remove and replace that decal. 2. Once clear coated you can no longer easily remove and replace decals, your looking at a repaint. 3. The decals are 2 layers thick as compared to non laminated decals that you see on motorcycle tanks. 4. If the tractor is not going to be a worker and is stored inside the decals will not fade for years and years. If it is a look you are going for then clear coating is not a problem in most cases. Again make sure your base coat has completely cured before applying decals and clear coating.

I didn’t think of the shifter boot! Good idea! Thank you. Idk if it was ever left outdoors or anything. It’s inside now. It looks a little rough but just needs a good cleaning I think. I notice the mule drive is sitting on the step but I’m not to worried about that. I was a heavy truck mechanic for about 10 years but I have no experience with working on these wheel horses. I don’t need anything fully restored or anything. A little rough is fine with me. But I also don’t want one that’s been chopped up or anything. I’m pretty excited to buy one. Just gotta find the right one. The one I’m looking at tomorrow he’s asking $800 but I’m hoping to talk him down some if he’s willing. Here’s some pics of it and one of me and my pap. A B or C series is fine. Idk exactly what my pap had I’m mostly goin off memory but I remember it being an 8 speed.

@LengerichKA88 Since you are into wine making i think you will appreciate this. This is the screw from the old wine press in my in laws house. Dated 1772. It is carved from one entire tree trunk and about 25 feet long.

I bought a 1941 John Deere LA that has a Ark 550 loader that someone has put on it. I was told the loader was off of a WH D250 there is some red paint here and there. I fell in love with it as soon as I seen it. I've never jumped on the team GREEN band wagon. But here we are. I hope even though it is not red you guys might still help me out. I'm in the process or rebuilding the cylinders the seals were shot. I have read that it's a good idea to put a filter on the system. So was curious if anyone has done this? Also to trouble shoot I hear of people saying to put a gauge on it and so forth. What sorta pressure or psi will this system produce? Gauges range from 0-100psi 0-300psi ect. So what is appropriate? The pump pulley is slipping but I think I can engineer a better bracket to tighten the belt but I'm a little worried it may be going out but I have my fingers crossed. I may have more questions as I dig into this any help would be great.

I was about 10 feet from her. Close enough to share, far enough I had a fightin’ chance of not getting something thrown at me! Remember I didn’t want to reveal identities of who I got the pics from!

Nik if that's your pap in the picture above it looks an awful lot like a 1976 or 1977 b100 to me. Welcome to The forum. Lots of half decent people here. Add up enough of us and you make one or two actual whole decent people.

@NikW! If this isn’t the one for you, how ‘bout you just go ahead and block off the weekend of June 20-23 and come hang out with us in Biglerville PA? I’m sure you’ll find a few of whatever you need at the Big Show!

I don't think that clearing over a decal changes the effect much. When ever I have cleared over decals the intent was to get rid of the texture of the decal. Basically I did not want to be able to feel the edges of the decal. Sometimes this involved letting the first round of clear coats to dry, wet sand every thing smooth with 1000grit, then apply more clear coat to get a glass finish.

Over the next several months and into the winter I will be redoing my 520 that I bought back in April. My dad was a Wheel Horse dealer and this is exactly what I would have bought new from him at the time (1991) if a 20 yr old kid would have been able to afford it. My plan is to use the 42" recycler deck off of my C120 on the 520 this summer to determine what, if any mechanical issues it may have before tearing it down. I paid $800 for it in the condition seen in the pictures and everything on the tractor works, every light, every switch, everything. I've already torn down the 48" deck it came, had it blasted, and sent for powdercoat, and will spend the next few evenings updating this post with pictures of the parts I've redone so far and the replacement goodies that I'm cleaning out from dad's inventory! This will be mostly a cosmetic redo with no corners cut. The engine seems to run like a champ, doesn't smoke or use oil, and sounds great, so I don't think a rebuild will be needed. Stay tuned

If you have any old stuff with painted up wheels, could you post a pic or ten up here please? I’m still going to try to convince my wife that Frank should get a nice set of wheels before we call the project done. I prefer dark like Putt Putt has, but light colors are welcome here too. I won’t show her this post, so you can remain anonymous to her 😎 but I will show her your ride 👍 It seems like @AMC RULES and @dells68 have some round hoods that would fit the bill, didn’t @Sparky do up a square hood cruiser last fall with a harbor freight mill? @Achto I don’t have any white walls, but how about the rat rod?

There are countless of great places and things to discover in this country. They are different than other continents but they are also unique . There is however something here that you will not find anywhere else and no other culture can claim it. Perhaps it is more obvious to me than for someone born here which is only natural. It is the diversity of the people which live here. Here one is exposed to the rest of the world and all cultures by just being in one place. I can honestly say that my life would have not been a fraction of what it is had I stayed where I am from. I would have never learned a fraction of what I have simply for the fact that the opportunity, individuals , and even the freedom to do so from would not be there. I am proud of my culture but there is no mistake or doubt as to where my heart is and to what I can call home.

Not so much secret catacombs that I'm aware of but there are definitely buildings up here in New England that are connected by the cellars. Underground Railroad used to run through with freed slaves on their way to Canada. In one building and out another......

Since it was private property and he donated much to Museum there was not a problem. It is however not the right thing to do. I have here many artifacts that I brought over that I should not have. These things should always be left in their place of origin. With the exception of family heirlooms I have instructions that upon my death they are returned back there and donated to the proper entity. I have there some incredible items some rather large such as antique horse wagon used by my father in law and his father, that when he passes will go on a permanent loan to the national museum. They were given to me but I will never go to live there again neither will my children ,so when they pass that is where they will be so it's preserved for all future generations.

You are up also since you really had it. No hoops to jump through. They know that I love anything that has to do with history or heritage so they saved the best one for me. There were only three whole ones with no damage but over 100 broken ones.Museum was pleased with the others since they never had an undamaged one still up to today.New building construction got moved to another area. This well was a pretty ornate structure with decorated wall tiles so it was exposed and preserved. Now, the original find was a vertical well. However inside of same well about 50 feet deep there was another well or horizontal tunnel perpendicular to the well. Attempts have been made over the years to fully investigate it. They have gone in to it for about one kilometer which is a little more than half a mile but they give up for safety reasons. Not a lot of oxygen at that distance. One can walk almost upright inside of it. All kinds of cool stuff in that village.

First let me correct myself for the Hooka is not from the same culture although widely used by it. @LengerichKA88 you pretty much had it.about had it a couple of posts before but I wanted you to be sure. Ed @Ed Kennell also pretty much nailed it. So a little history now. The Iberian Peninsula where I am from was inhabited earlier by the Romans towards the North and later by the Moors towards the South. Influences from both in all kinds of areas is prominent including surviving structures and everyday items. My in laws being from the South live in an area with a lot of visible Arab influence. A few years back upon excavating for the foundation of a new structure, they came across an old large well that somehow was in a sort of large underground void . It was almost like a protective structure was built over it prior to burying it. Inside well these pots were found. Most were broken with a few exceptions like this one. No one even knew exactly what they were not even the oldest people in the village. Experts from the National Archeological Museum were contacted. They knew what it was and described its function. They also carbon dated the pots and they are from somewhere in the 1500s. After that time other type vessels were used and eventually that method of lifting water was not used anymore. All other intact pots were donated to museum with the exception of this one which my in laws gave to me along with some other broken ones. This was from a Persian wheel or a"Noria". Ed's model describes it but it is a later version. I have below a photo from the museum's model of the actual type pot was used on. It was operated by a draft animal that was blindfolded so it would not get dizzy. Pot was tied to wooden wheel by a rope around middle recess. Hole on the bottom was so air would escape through it allowing water to go into pot. Found this good description of its history The History of the Noria.pdf

Bath day! I’ll have to get the cherry picker out and lift it up vertical to get the undercarriage good and clean. I do wish the front axle pin wasn’t welded in place.... and I know I could un-weld it if I wanted to, but the front end will just stay complete for clear coating for now.

We just went to the store for grillin’ goods. On the way home, I say “I wet sanded the fenders and cleared a few parts today.” “Oh yeah? How’s it look?” ”Pretty good. I told you it was the way to go.” Slight pause... I couldn’t look at her... ”Baaaah hahahahah! You just wait ‘till I tell all your friends about this!” ”I already told them.” more laughter from my wife....

If you are going to get upset about people's responses to your comments or posts you may be in for a rough ride. After all many times we post something because we want to hear different opinions or suggestions. If it is only to hear someone agree with us that may not necessarily be a good thing. I too sometimes was a little taken aback by certain comments to my opinions or suggestions, however thinking about them for a while I realized that there was validity to some or much of what was said. Don't be so quick in your judgement. I have been here for a while so my next statements may sound a little biased but there is a lot of not only knowledge but more importantly life experience here. Respectfully my suggestion is to partially quote what was said to me earlier in my life "Look, Listen and....."
