You mean to tell me Steve had to become a Mod to finally dump that Commodore 64?

I was thinking that being Knighted was the thing that helped to make me turn BLUE. You guys!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am going to need a lot of help.

After spending the day playing in our Volvo mini loader and excavator at work I decided I better flatten out some ruts in the mud at home before the ground freezes and I have to plow over them all winter. The 753 had no problems even with the bigger ones. If we could just get some cold weather to freeze everything up or if it could stop raining up here we would be good. I can't even get out to my fire wood pile with any of my tractors cause it's so muddy. My son's and their trusty red wagon have been handling the firewood detail the last few weeks.

See...I take one day off and look what happens! You know Steve this means the wine cellar has to come out of the basement for more room for high strung computers. Looks like you will be doing something else in moderation other than on RS!

Nice work and the tool box is the bomb! Don't scrap the old nose piece out Denny ...might be good for another project or even just shop deco.

Congratulations, Steve, from this side of the Pond. I suppose this is the reason you'll be getting a new computer at long last.

Congrats @stevasaurus! Does this mean less rock-n-rye, or more, or just less talk about it? I’m confused!

Thank you Karl...I will do my best to keep up the tradition of the fantastic Moderators that are here and have been here before. I have come a long way from my 1st day on Red Square, and I am still learning...now I get to give something back. Thank You for your trust in me.

Well the nice guy at NAPA gave me a big discount on hoses....only $234.00 instead of $325.00. Sure doesn't look like that much but oh well. I now have liftage..... Will need to flush fluid again as it got milky from leftover fluid in valve and pump. Goes up slow. SUPER EXCITED!!!!!

Download this manual. Also check the pinned topic at the top of this forum for Sundstrand O rings. As D man said if you have 5/16" bolts get parts for 3/8" bolts.. If you have 3/8" bolts get new Grade 8 ones. Axle seals are readily available from any good auto parts store or something like motion industries. D's are not the easiest WH to work on. Your biggest issue maybe removing the hubs. You have to use a puller do not beat them off!!! The thinness of the hub flange relative to the length of the hub means they are easy to break if you have to pull really hard. if they do not move you will have to rig a puller that works from the back of the hub. Edit: If all that is leaking is the axles you do not have to split the transaxle or remove it from the tractor. you will have to pull the hubs...

I was on my way to work and saw this cool old girl sitting at a repair shop. After the third day of driving past , I pulled up next to her and asked her to jump in my truck and come home with me. I told her that I’d take care if her and not make her sit out in the rain but she wouldn’t get in. I was surprised that they had her sitting out on the lawn for 3 days and not in the shop. I guess they figured nobody would want to steal that old rusty tractor. I wonder if it belongs to a Red Square member in eastern Pa?

The hood on this Ranger had a dent on the nose where the “Wheel Horse” lettering is and I never could get it straightened good enough to be happy with it. Another member here gave me a nice nose piece so I’m attempting to replace the front of my hood with the the one I just got.I ended up using the front mounting tab from my old hood and now I’m ready to tack the new front onto the hood. Tomorrow my son in law is gonna come by and help me get everything lined up so I can tack the two halves back together. So far this has gone better than I thought it might, I think it’ll make a nice hood when it’s done.

Maybe you could leave your name and number with the guys at the shop and ask them to pass it along to the owner and see if he'll call you.

My wife wants to have chickens. We can't have them where we live. As a joke a while back I bought a couple of metal chicken lawn decorations and planted them in a flower bed and waited for my wife to see them. Took a while but she got a good laugh out of it and named them after a couple of neighbor's that moved away that we miss. I found another one and didn't tell her again and she finally found it and joked they were multiplying. I named it Ralph after my retired next door neighbor engineer. Picked up a big ceramic Rooster on my way home the show. She named him Homer as he's what you see when you get home. It's our 30th Anniversary this weekend so I got her a coop and we made a little display in hope that someone sees it and turns us in for having chickens. @stevasaurus thought of The Dead Chicken Society but since these were never alive in the first place I un gruesomed it a bit. Hope to get some good laughs out of it. We'll do more landscaping after it cools off!

That’s exactly where I found my 61 tag. I find learning about the history of these tractors interesting. I found it cool to discover on my tractors what another member wrote about. This fourm and the people on it are great.

Mocking up a tool box and fender mount. I feel like the front plate is important for transmission cooling, so I just need to finalize the fender location and mock up the rest of the box with cardboard then steel!

New to me C160.... in the process of draining the 8-speed transmission..... jacked up the front, raised the right rear a bit to lean the drain hole to the left. Will keep a catch pan under it overnight to let it drain good. Did I see mention of putting diesel in the transmission and driving it a bit to clean it good?

Mike is correct on the wider rims they will work but look goofy. He is spot on about the Firestones and is the only thing I would put on a beast of a C160 dang the cost. Miller tire is the only place you can get them and they are quite proud of them. In fact darn near the only place you can get a 16/6.50-8 tire these days is Miller. http://www.millertire.com/products/lawn-garden-tires/16x6-50-8/16x6-50-8-firestone-3-rib-front-4-ply/ I got these used for a little less than Miller from a fellow member. they are mounted on standard rims and look a little balloonish but not bad. I do have the Dees on my regular plow rig just like Dan's above with good results.

I have deestone tri ribs on a 1076 and I think they are great. They really look good and work well, makes steering much easier. They won't work on those wide C160 rims, but firestone does make a tri rib in the correct size, it's just very expensive. You can get a set of the narrow wheel horse rims fairly cheap and swap spindles with an older machine if you want to go a cheaper route.

303 would go a long way to prevent the sun from eating one of those tops - go directly to their site, there are ways to get larger bulk amounts for use in your own sprayer. https://www.goldeagle.com/product/303-aerospace-protectant/ I should start using the stuff to prevent my outdoor tarps from rotting away - storing several tractors out in our Illinois weather gets expensive as most of them only last maybe 2yrs at most. I don't have a spring compressor either and use needle nose pliers as a lever. Not as easy, of course, but has served me since I was 15. Yeah, I'm cheap - now that I can afford these things, I'm slow in getting them. There's always some alternate method using normal tools that one can apply. Seems that engine is burning a little oil and that the head gasket was weeping a bit. Good luck!

Here's some pics of my new toys that will be used to clear some of my newly purchased 24.9 acres.Going to create a little park-like setting 75 to 100 feet behind my barns. The rest, who knows? Cleared a little before it got too cold out. The pic of the property is looking behind my shop.
