9 pointsGet out your torn up jeans,Brylcream tight white T shirts, and roll a pack of cigs into the sleeve................ No Wait! not that kind of Greaser Day. It's time to lube the fleet before the cold weather sets in. Dewalt gun works nice but it's also a pain to operate. ant to top it off, the Lock n Lube end failed. Came with a kit but the thing wouldn't come apart to repair it. So I has to get an old school gun end out. Got a leaky bucket cylinder on Elvis so got that ordered. Heard an engine running all afternoon. My retired engineer neighbor just got a new Westinghouse Genny from Amazon. The recoil was messed up so they sent him a new one. I had to wander over. His solar panels aren't charging his battery bank so he's charging it with the Genny. I mentioned $4.50 a gal gas and he could just plug the bank in to charge it He shrugged his shoulders and said "I know but I like it this way"

7 pointsSeptember 19, 1990 Goodfellas premiered in the USA with its wide theatrical release on September 19, 1990, although it had earlier premieres in New York City (Sept 18) and at the Venice Film Festival (Sept 9). Directed by Martin Scorsese, it became a landmark film in the gangster genre, starring Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta, and Joe Pesci.

5 pointsBored, the professor says to the farmer: "I ask you a question, if you can't answer it, you give me $5; then you ask me a question, if I can't answer it, I give you $500, what do you think?" The farmer nods. The professor asks the farmer: "What is the distance between the Earth and the Moon?" The farmer silently takes out $5 and gives it to the professor. The farmer asks the professor: "What animal has three legs when ascending a mountain and four legs when descending a mountain?" The professor thinks hardly but couldn't find an answer, so he reluctantly pulls out $500 for the farmer. The farmer takes the $500 and prepares to nap, the professor asks: "What animal is it!?" The farmer takes out $5 and gives it to the professor, then he falls asleep.

4 pointsA couple of weeks ago I bought an 875. Ad said it didn't run but might run if had gas and a good battery. All it came with was a mower deck. I had kind of had a thread in transmissions but I figured I'd give it its own thread to record what all I've done to it. When we got it home, we stole the battery out of a different tractor and shot some brake clean into the carb and it popped off. Hooked up a temporary fuel tank with a pop bottle amd it kind of ran. I cleaned out the jets for the carb, got it its own battery, rewired it, put a different fuel pump on it, and it ran! After I got it running, within the next few days I changed the engine oil on it and threw a different deck on it just to see how much I liked mowing with it. A couple of days after that I got a Napa 1410 filter and changed the atf in the tranny. Now I just need to get the cam plate changed out and all of that adjusted and it'll be a pretty good little tractor. I'm just not if the linkages are hooked up right as it looks like it will rub on the one screw, as shown in the pics. So if anyone has any help for that it would be appreciated.

4 pointsTwo sisters, one blonde and one brunette, inherit the family ranch. Unfortunately, after just a few years, they are in financial trouble. In order to keep the bank from repossessing the ranch, they need to purchase a bull from the stockyard in a far town so that they can breed their own stock. They only have $600 left. Upon leaving, the brunette tells her sister, “When I get there, if I decide to buy the bull, I’ll contact you to drive out after me and haul it home.” The brunette arrives at the stockyard, inspects the bull, and decides she wants to buy it. The man tells her that he will sell it for $599, no less. After paying him, she drives to the nearest town to send her sister a telegram to tell her the news. She walks into the telegraph office and says, “I want to send a telegram to my sister telling her that I’ve bought a bull for our ranch. I need her to hitch the trailer to our pickup truck and drive out here so we can haul it home.” The telegraph operator explains that he’ll be glad to help her, then adds, “It’s just 99 cents a word.” Well, after paying for the bull, the brunette only has $1 left. She realizes that she’ll only be able to send her sister one word. After a few minutes of thinking, she nods and says, “I want you to send her one word: comfortable.” The operator shakes his head. ‘How is she ever going to know that you want her to hitch the trailer to your pickup truck and drive out here to haul that bull back to your ranch if you send her just the word “comfortable?” The brunette explains, “My sister’s blonde. The word’s big. She’ll read it very slowly … com-for-da-bull.”

3 pointsThose 3rd gears get worn from grinding of the gears. Once it's worn enough it will cause that pop out of gear issue. Replacing it is the only fix now. Somewhere along the line it was being shifted into gear when the clutch wasn't working properly, so it ground down the edges of that gear. 3rd gear barely engages into the other gear which drives it and you will easily see why it will grind down so quickly if you open it up to change it.

3 pointsI many parts of the film the tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. I remember hearing that many of the best lines in the movie were not in the original script but were adlibbed during rehearsals.

3 pointsA very upset blonde calls her brunette friend. Blonde - Can you give me a ride? Brunette - Sure, what's wrong? Blonde - I ran my cat over with the lawn mower and cut its tail off. I caught the cat and found its tail, now I need a ride to Wal Mart. Brunette - Don't you mean you need a ride to the veterinary clinic instead? Blonde - No, we need to go to Wal Mart. I heard they are the largest retailer in the area.

3 pointsI have another update. It turns out the Predator engine probably puts out more than 3 amps. There are 3 stator coils. The Honda 20 amp configuration uses 3 coils. A 3 amp system should be one coil. However, the rectifier/regulator is at best 10 amps. I ordered a 20 amp regulator and stator. I am hoping it will bolt on and get me a 20 amp system. There is a 26 amp conversion kit for sale for $250 that includes a new flywheel with the regulator and stator. 20 amps should be more than enough for me so long as the Honda parts fit. The only other known issue is hood clearance with the exhaust along with the exhaust outlet pointing back toward the driver. If you want to be able to close the hood and not cut the hood, some sort of modification to the exhaust is required, The Predator engine is close in footprint to a Kohler. The center line of the PTO is about 1/2" lower than the Kohler making a 1/2" mounting plate a perfect solution to both mount the engine and align the PTO. I have read, but cannot confirm that it is important that an aluminum block engine be mounted on a plate rather than using risers. The Kohler bolt holes in the frame are in the wrong position, of course. The mounting plate will only require some simple welds. It also adds enough weight to the replacement engine that it is very close to the weight of the KT-19, which keeps the weight balance close to original. The purpose of these updates is to help someone trying to do a similar conversion and what issues need to be overcome. Hopefully, someone finds it useful. I hope to follow up once things a further along.

3 pointsToday's progress: C clips for the front tachomatic latch bar thingy (there were none...) then converted it to a front 2" hitch. Can be easily converted back for mowing - remove 4 bolts and put knob back on... can use for trailer maneuvering, weight, winch for plow etc... older I get more I like looking straight ahead at what I'm hitched to...

2 pointsMike and I have rebuilt 2 maybe a couple of years ago. And they can get pricey, depending on what they need. Well worth it though, cause it will last longer than you It's really not as difficult as you might think. The worse part is the cleaning.
-
2 pointsAnd if you don't use all of the parts, save them for the next one or someone else may need them.

2 pointsThe numbering system rules of thumb devised by Wheel Horse was very logical and easily understandable UNTIL a few exceptions to the rules became a bit unruly. You see, every hard and fast Wheel Horse rule has an exception or two. The first digit of a three digit model numbers tell the horsepower, for example a 654 would have a six horsepower engine. Staying with the 654 the second digit tells us this is an electric start manual transmission. If it was a X0X it would be a manual transmission pull-start engine. If it were a X7X then it would be an electric start hydrostatic transaxle. In 1967 the six speed transaxle was introduced and the number 6 replaced the 0, 5, or 7 as next to last digit. The final number is the year of manufacture, 654 having been a 1964 model. 1963 brought about the first flagrant departure from "THE RULE". If you bought a 603 you got a six HP Tecumseh pull start manual shift No rules broken there. If you bought a 654 you got a six HP Tecumseh electric start manual shift No rules broken there BUT, if you bought a 633 you got a seven HP Kohler pull start with a magneto ignition manual shift . Didn't see that in the rule book? In 1964 the first double digit engine number came along with the introduction of the 10 horsepower 1054 so we had to start the countdown from the right like Arabic or Hebrew. In 1965 the new square hood design was launched and the pesky numbering system got in the way again. Wheel Horse had a store-house full of round fenders and pan seats so a new square hooded round fendered model evolved, the 1045. Several models conforming to the existing system were added to the line-up. 605, 655, 855, 875, 1075, no problem so far. but, the company wanted to retain the 1054 - - - and they had a manual shift version of the 1057 which would be a 1055 so they couldn't just change the four to a five. Just an an A to the 1054. Since the last number changed each year that this system was used, they are all one year only and in my opinion, they are all special.

2 points@Bar Nuthin The piston piston linkage is different than the 875 Wheel a Matic. @702854boyI have some pics in this thread. and I have to take mine apart again to adjust the tension today. You can see a slight groove in mine as well. I did have a broken frame before these were taken and it made everything shift position. Also looks like your tension plates are worn out.

2 pointsTurning the mule drive belt tightening in a clockwise direction will loosen the belt. The only time I have had steering that far out of line it was caused by a driver backing over the front wheel with a 4000 pound SUV but we are still married. Replacement spindles are rather easy to come by since most are interchangeable over a wide range of years and models. from the '70s to '90s.

1 pointWhat I really love about that clip above, and I wasn't there that time, but the infamous Fender #1 broke a string and he didn't miss a beat. Just called for the next in the stable and kept on workin'. Love it!
-
1 pointI just went out and checked the frame and it doesn't appear to be broken but it looks like it had been repaired before in the past but it almost looks like an actual Wheel Horse fix and not some guy in his backyard because the paint matches the rest of the tractor and the welds are better than those that I've seen from owners fixing the f plate. I'll upload some pics later.

1 pointNext up for me is to drag out the Ariens SnoThro, change the oil & the friction disc. Pull the bucket apart to inspect / relube / replace the high speed sealed ball bearing. Look at why the NLA gearbox is leaking... No fun doing all that when it is 20 degrees outside...
