7 pointsGet out your torn up jeans,Brylcream tight white T shirts, and roll a pack of cigs into the sleeve................ No Wait! not that kind of Greaser Day. It's time to lube the fleet before the cold weather sets in. Dewalt gun works nice but it's also a pain to operate. ant to top it off, the Lock n Lube end failed. Came with a kit but the thing wouldn't come apart to repair it. So I has to get an old school gun end out. Got a leaky bucket cylinder on Elvis so got that ordered. Heard an engine running all afternoon. My retired engineer neighbor just got a new Westinghouse Genny from Amazon. The recoil was messed up so they sent him a new one. I had to wander over. His solar panels aren't charging his battery bank so he's charging it with the Genny. I mentioned $4.50 a gal gas and he could just plug the bank in to charge it He shrugged his shoulders and said "I know but I like it this way"

6 pointsI have red, orange, yellow, green and yellow, orange and blue, and a rusty Speedex. His calls them all pink. But he only sits on the Wheel Horses, and the Elec-Trak. He has two older sisters, so the dominate color at home is pink. 🤨🤨🤨

5 pointsReplaced both axle seals and brake shaft seal on C160, and thanks to @rmaynard glued up a new brake band for same tractor. Hopefully get put back together tomorrow or maybe this evening.

5 pointsSeptember 18, 1983, Ten years after signing their first record deal, with their album sales flagging, '70s rock band Kiss shocks audiences by appearing live on MTV for the first time without their iconic face paint.
-
5 pointsThis if you plan on staying around and enjoy these ol tractors it is well worth the price of admission to become a supporter. You would be hard pressed to find a better bunch of 's then what's on here and all the W/H knowledge you want find anywhere else.

4 pointsIf I happened onto a #22 that was badly worn, I’d be temped to experiment with other ways to revive it--perhaps drill out and insert bushing(s) at the upper and lower pivots? This is not uncommon in older automotive carbs.

4 pointsCommon moto for a KISS song - Sing 9 words & sing em well. Like thier music, the chorus was ussually a bit redundant.

4 pointsAlways drink upstream from the herd. Good judgment comes from experience, and a lotta that comes from bad judgment.

4 pointsThis picture shows piston wash. The clean area is from oil getting past the rings and washing the carbon off the top of the piston.

4 pointsMy brother worries me. Every time he drives by a dairy farm, he pulls over and leaves a few dollars on the fence. Doesn't he know cow tipping is illegal?

4 pointsAppreciation was not what I had for it in he moment. I was already rather annoyed because the rodent damage actually caused an electrical fire, and so in addition to everything else, and that harness not being easy to do, everything, including myself, was covered in flame retardant.

4 pointsThanks. This is what I would have guessed. I’m thinking that the next time I do an oil change I’ll tape the key to a checklist that I can review before trying to start the engine!
-
4 pointsTypically the order of flow through a pressurized oil system is pump, filter, crank bearings, cam bearings, lifters/valve train, and then back to the pan. If the engine was started, with oil in it, it would be EVERYWHERE.

3 pointsToday's progress: C clips for the front tachomatic latch bar thingy (there were none...) then converted it to a front 2" hitch. Can be easily converted back for mowing - remove 4 bolts and put knob back on... can use for trailer maneuvering, weight, winch for plow etc... older I get more I like looking straight ahead at what I'm hitched to...

3 pointsWe started a charity job for a cancer family today . Tear out a tub and replace it with a shower . As you can see it was in tough shape but the treatments and all that goes with it took priority. First it was me and my brother taking down tikes and wet drywall, but as the job progressed we started learning just how much the multi tool could do without destroying too much at once. Two of the sons started trying out the tool and when it came time to break up the cast iron tub, they made it their own . They gave each other the business like brothers do and it was a good day. I just learned to advise them when to be careful and why The last picture is an installation I did on my rental house and the shower is a Sterling brand shower which is a Kohler company. Once the base is set the walls are pretty easy. My brother and I are bone tired and both are proud of the grandsons.

3 pointsNext up for me is to drag out the Ariens SnoThro, change the oil & the friction disc. Pull the bucket apart to inspect / relube / replace the high speed sealed ball bearing. Look at why the NLA gearbox is leaking... No fun doing all that when it is 20 degrees outside...

2 pointsI keep hearing/seeing all of this talk about the potential dangers of “AI”, I keep listening but I’ve yet to hear any mention of “Terminator”, or “Arnie”, 😎 I’m waiting for a newscaster to say something like, “ Goodnight”, “I’ll be back”. 😂😂😂

2 pointsWhat does that knob do at the bottom. It looks like someone used channel locks on it and broke it all up. Unfortunately the previous owner was my neighbor that passed away so I have no idea what has been done on this tractor. His wife gave it to me and I thought that was very nice of her but I am still trying to find out about it. I did down load the manual for it so I have that now. I am thinking this is going to be a fun project.

2 pointsA quick check for the upper throttle shaft play is to put a drop of oil on the depression around the shaft (right where @ebinmaine is pointing) while the engine is running. If the surging goes away and then returns when the oil is gone then air in-leakage around the shaft is your problem. The little brass washers from the hardware store could do the trick.

2 pointsYes I bought one last year my self, for that K241 non ACR engine Eric. I think 30 and 20,s should be fine. After that I will use the block heater.
-
2 pointsI use a magnetic heater on my 1975 C160 Automatic. Definitely makes a huge difference. Also a lot less expensive than propane.

2 pointsI'm not the music enthusiast I used to be but I did see Stevie Ray Vaughan in Pittsburgh many, many years ago when he opened for the Outlaws and then his brother with the Fabulous Thunderbirds in San Antonio a few years later in Hemisphere Park during Cinco de Mayo, I think that was maybe 1989. Memories...

2 pointsWhen I was in the seventh or eighth grade (had the same teacher for both) we studied the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, Bill of Rights and Constitutional Amendments (there were four less back then). Some of these lessons lasted all day but we LEARNED about them rather then gloss over them. Our teacher was a naturalize citizen from France who immigrated as a teen ager with his family shortly after World War Two. He had a deeper appreciation for these documents and the freedoms we enjoy than nearly anyone I have ever met. About twenty years later I had a young Mexican worker on the farm I was managing who more or less became my right hand man. He had gone through our public school system and wanted to become a US Citizen. I spent an hour or so with him after work most days and I attempted to pass along the enthusiasm that our teacher had for these formative documents. I have never felt such pride as the day I stood with him and his parents at his Naturalization Ceremony.

2 pointsGotcha... actually it's pretty good... I'm thinking it's most likely just dirty... I'm noting improvements as I run it, so I'm thinking it's just a matter of time before I get to good... everything on this has been pretty dirty so far... so I'm just keeping up with cleaning as I go and we'll see...

2 pointsGreased all zerks. Boy was there some nasty black ooze coming out... Continued to work on surging issue... bit more carb cleaner, tweaking the adjustments, running it with good gas, some Seafoam, stabil... getting better. May dip it again...
