It was a great show even if the starter went out of the raider 1/2 through the day! Didn’t get enough pictures now that I looked

@WHX?? dry camping is no hookups. We take a generator and our own water. WARNING You're gonna see some of my off brand stuff lol IMG_20260910_101038.heic

Solves several problems. Instant starts save batteries and starters. And eliminates the risk of a leaking diaphragm pumping fuel into the crankcase and destroying an engine and possibly the operator.

We finally got the side yard at the lake house seeded where the mess was made when the neighbor drilled a new well. Some rain started just as we were finishing spreading straw over the seed. Pretty good timing.

Not saying it was or wasn't, but I've never seen a cam lobe worn down by a fuel pump arm. However, an electric pump is a good replacement.

I like the weights. Pretty Cool! A front tombstone weight and rear wheel weights also. This keeps surprising me. Just researching the transmission. Pretty sure I'll have to dig into it. Not looking like fun, but the more I research, the more doable it seems. Thanks, Dave

or get a lower PTO hoop holder (or make one) and use spacers like this

There really isn't much of a lobe to begin with but for the sake of discussion: My C160 would be a beast to get the carb primed if I ran out of gas. so I thought the pump was bad and replaced it. Couldn't get any gas to the carb at all. I unbolted it with the lines connected and could get it to pump like crazy by hand. Tried installing it like 10 times with no luck. Went electric and never looked back.

Sorry no pics Eric, but I have eliminated this engine mounting design that depends on four rubber sponges and the drive and PTO belt tension to position the engine. Some I replaced the rubbers with solid spacers and some I cut the angled wings off the cradle plate, removed the tapered bars and bolted the plate directly to the frame with the correct spacers to put the engine at the correct height. All worked well and IMO had the same or less vibration than the rubber mounts. Here is a link to my Low Rider build where I altered the cradle plate to a solid mount. Page #2 shows the mods.

    I'm pretty frugal and opted to use 1/2" x 1 1/2".

Edy had a cabinet in the garage that she wanted gone. I didn’t need to use the Roper to move it but I wanted to.😁😁😁 I transported it to the workshop and installed it in a corner of my office.

We found the pedal assembly we need, on eBay. That deal is complete, we are just waiting on shipping. It’ll be time soon to pull the trans, and swap the flexplate out for a flywheel.

You had me at "boom"... I thought this was going to be another story about the connecting rod getting a sudden urge to vacate the premises....

After work, I started to clean up and look over the hydraulics and the other parts I got from @ebinmaine. they’re in pretty good shape, so I shouldn’t have to do much to get them working.

I just went the rigid mount bushings from performance machine and design...and they do work...but the installation is definitely not easy...if I were to do this again I would do what @pfrederi did above.

nice ed! I happen to be going to the Southern Ohio Forge and Anvil Quadstate blacksmith program on September 25th snd 26th to sell some of my dad’s blacksmith tools and Power Hammer Forging dvd sets! It is the largest blacksmith program in the country held every year. Swap meet , demonstrations and gallery of items made! My dad was a world famous power hammer blacksmith that taught for thirty years after the steel mill he worked at closed the large blacksmith shop they used throughout the plant! ! https://www.facebook.com/share/1FmxUFb998/?mibextid=wwXIfr

I would rather deal with the seller but I might have to go the eBay route.

Oh yeah, that one tube being almost completely smashed shut isn't going to affect the flow at all. And if you believe that I have a bridge in Brooklyn for sale. I have a cooler flusher at work with a flow meter on it that I would use if I received a part looking like that. Most people don't have that kind of access.

I hate when one of my "OLD Stand-by" tools goes south! Knowing that I will never be able to replace it with anything even close to that quality or durability.

This is the most important step IMO. I do this on all of mine but definitely necessary if you're increasing the air intake or doing any porting.

1960 550 and 61 551. First time these 2 have been run in awhile but both fired right up. I had forgotten how much easier these are to mount and dismount than the horses with running boards.

Is that a dog-point set screw? The dog-point fits into the front hole of the shifter donut and that is what the shifter pivots on.

They have a 98.8 positive feedback, since 2017. They are selling electrical and mechanical stuff. I have had little problems with eBay sellers, I guess it was time for that to change.

The 9-inch is not actually the strongest medium duty axle Ford ever put out. The 8.8 is better in most applications, stronger, and more versatile. The 9-inch got it's reputation because it's a 3rd member design that allows for swapping gear ratios in minutes by having several 3rd members set up and ready to go.

I was at an auction yesterday and bought this... It fired right up, blower works, and it moves fine. I did some reading and i just want your opinion on how decent of a mower it is? Its a 314A. I bought it to blow snow as itll be eaiser to do my sidewalks and stuff with then my quad. I gave 230bucks for it.
