13 pointsI've always wanted to show a before and after comparison with Penetrol. So I gave Dusty the B-80 the business. Before: After:

9 pointsCan't say enough about then ICON magnetic mat from my favorite haunt Horror Fright! Super handy when tearing down a tractor. Bolts, parts, tools stick to it so things don't go bye bye and won't harm the paint on @WHX?? and @Achto's trailer queens! Not cheap at 25 clams but worth it in my book! https://www.harborfreight.com/large-magnetic-tool-pad-attaches-to-toolboxes-fenders-and-doors-11-in-x-9-in-mat-holds-ratchets-wrenches-and-sockets-70077.html

8 pointsAugust 25, 1962, a diminutive, 17-year-old singer named Eva Narcissus Boyd scored her first and only #1 pop hit with “The Loco-Motion.” Her success certainly came from her abundant talent and a great capacity for hard work, but it was helped along by being in the right place at the right time. Eva Boyd was newly arrived in New York City from her native North Carolina and looking for work when a neighbor in Brooklyn pointed her toward the job that would end up changing her life: working as a nanny for a young, professional Manhattan couple. It just so happened that the couple looking for a new babysitter were Gerry Goffin and Carole King, future members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. 2, a diminutive, 17-year-old singer named Eva Narcissus Boyd, Little Eva, scored her first and only #1 pop hit with “The Loco-Motion.” Her success certainly came from her abundant talent and a great capacity for hard work, but it was helped along by being in the right place at the right time. 7 pointsHad a team taking down three large Norway Maple trees (a fast-growing invasive) from a place on the property inaccessible to their truck. Many loads from the worksite to their truck with the 854 and trailer to saved them using a hand truck (and saved me some $$ in hourly rate!)

6 pointsWe woke up to 2” of ground water that had seeped into the new mud. I was freaking out, the pool guy was not ao concerned. I wet vacuumed the majority of the mess, and he added dry vermiculite and some hydraulic cement. I a couple hours it looked like a pool again!

4 pointsMe and the neighbor loaded a few of them up and took them to Portland, IN antique engine and tractor show. Spent the better part of the day riding around the swap meet area and picking up a few things along the way. Only managed to cover about half of the swap meet area and one pass through the antique engine area. Huge event and it doesn't even officially open until Wednesday.

4 pointsHe's been on several watch lists for years related to his unnatural accumulation of tractor parts... something about manipulating the market...

4 pointsThe long flight (United Airlines) came in just a bit quicker at 15 hours and 35 minutes in the air…set my stopwatch on my phone . The next and final leg across Australia is with Quantas and is just over 4 hours.

4 pointsI'm happy to report that the Meeha Mirror is doing exceptionally well. She's healing faster and better than the E/R doc expected. Trina's been experimenting with taking two of the three meds away. There was some on n off there because of obvious pain & discomfort but the dog 🐕 is now off meds except prednisone. That'll be a few more weeks in the downgrading process. She's still severely restricted in allowable movement. No jumping. No running. Indoors she's kept quiet and in limited space so she can't run. Outdoors she's always leashed. This routine keeps up until the end of September at minimum.

3 pointsMy 1/4 drive sockets have been on the below pictured cheap 💩 chrome rails for yyeeeaarrs. I've thought about getting actual big boy holders pretty much that whole time. Today I got these nifty blue magnetic holders. MUCH better. No more falling rolling sockets.

3 pointsNothing special, but I moved a couple out to the barn until the house is done. It was nice to drive them around for a bit. You can see some of the debris pile behind the 523H. The contractor has removed over a dozen tandem dump truck loads so far.

3 pointsI'd like to have Glen Miller and the Army Air Force Band's version of Flyin' Home played at my funeral - LOUDLY.

2 pointsConvinced by @peter lena, I cut the baffles out, and did some minor repairs. I hope that will extend life of the deck and shorten cleaning time for sure.

2 pointsI did the hood of the B-80 a couple weeks ago just to see how it would go. Smeared it in evenly with a rag, let it set a while and rubbed off the excess. It’s not as shiny looking as yours looks in the pics, but made a huge improvement Now I gotta do a complete cleaning and treatment. It’s good stuff! No more dust catching oilings for me.

2 pointsNon-native plus prolific equals invasive! I have a few more to deal with but I need to plant some in the now-open area of hillside. I’m leaning toward sapling-sized hardwood and flowering trees. Arborist will be here tomorrow to work the plan.

2 pointsI have relied on my magnetic personality to keep tools etc. within easy reach up till now... for some reason it just doesn't work...

2 pointsAll I know is that it looks like golden rod growing in that field. The thought of mowing that is making my eyes water and I’m sneezing uncontrollably 🤣🤣🤣

2 pointsHer timing was right - she got recognition in a short timeframe before the large dominate MoTown groups And the "English Invasion" of 1964.

2 pointsMy baffles removed themselves one day while mowing. One side fell down, dug into the ground and stopped me dead in my tracks. Had to back it up all the way to the shop to remove the rest. Those big clods of grass that built up at the baffle intersections would have rotted the deck out.

2 pointsMike I would do what Mike said. These parts are easley to get. And if you can I would find ethanol, free gas. Just go online and type in ethanol free gas stations in my area. I believe there’s a few sites that has with phone numbers that you can call. You’ll be much better off. It doesn’t eat way at the rubber of the fuel line. I hope all goes well. Keep us in the loop.

2 pointsFlat or semi gloss black on the tower parts. Flat is more forgiving later if you have to touch up here and there from scratches too. The more gloss, the more blemishes will show up. Personally, flat looks better to me.

2 pointsMorbidly, I’ve started a folder to blunt the “He would’ve liked...” hypotheses. If it’s in there, I liked it. On the other hand, I won’t be there to hear or see whatever goes on so maybe I don’t care!?

2 pointsWell after being yelled at over nothing by a psychotic co-worker, and then running out of gas on a test drive, I decided I did not hate my life enough yet today, sooooo.... Engine is out. I forgot the flexplate bolts are e-torx, so it can't go on the stand yet, because I didn't bring the right sockets home.

2 pointsDecided to exercise my Elec-Trak this morning. Needed to remove the deck from its storage cart, and used the Roper with the front mount boom. After installing the deck I mowed about half the back yard. The grass was still wet with dew but I had a narrow window of opportunity. The wife has a doctors appointment this morning. Which is where I am going now. Not bad for 53 years old.
-
2 pointsJust to give you an idea of the matte look, this black hood was done in matte. I think the 520 hoods had a bit more shine, like the guys said semi gloss or even gloss. Most of the old 520 hoods I have had, the paint job from the factory was chincy and rubbed though and faded.
-
2 pointsPricey maybe..but how many originals are out there for sale? How many have been restored (ruined) by a rookie with a rattle can, how many have cut hoods to accomadate a Predator motor etc. Its genuinely rare if you ask me.

1 pointAnything I get is tarped on the trailer and a bug bomb set off under it before going into my shop. Don't want critters coming in.
-
1 pointDon't get me wrong I have one predator swap that I done several years ago in a 550 Suburban and have had good luck with it, but if I had it to do over I would have waited and found the proper Tecky or Kohler. There is also a big aftermarket support for the Predators. Pic of 550 with Predator.
-
1 pointAn aftermarket option. https://www.lilredbarn.net/product-p/k321-master-standard.htm I have had very good luck with parts from this seller Very important to know what parts are needed before ordering a kit. Measure your bore and crank pin before you order. This way you know if you will need an over sized piston or an under sized rod. Always send you new parts along with when you take the block or crank to your machinist.
-
1 pointWell Here is my fully gutted motor and transmission rj58. Got it when i was a kid and i got it done in 2015. Slow progress. LOL She is super perdy! I dont get her out much. I have pushed snow 1 time to say i have! I also have a deck and plow. but the deck and plow need restored.
