I hope y'all enjoyed my 2026 Big Show photos. I currently have 9 Wheel Horse tractors in my collection. But remember, it's the Wheel Horse tractors that collect the nicest people. See y'all next year at the Big Show.

Dug these old girls out of the weeds today for a couple hundred bucks. To my surprise the 520 actually started with some make shift gas line but the 314-8 which reads to be an 02 model is in tough shape with everything seized and locked up sadly it only has 200 hours on it with a like new 42” deck.

I got to watch these hard working men put up my new hangout. Over 100 degrees here today and they showed up at 10am and left at 8:40pm. Back this morning for the roof. Plan on sealing the floor this afternoon when it cools off

My family has been praying for you and your wife since you first told us about her being sick. We are deeply saddened for your loss. Please reach out to me anytime day or night if you’d like to talk. We are sorry we cannot attend the funeral service today. As I mentioned to you, our doors will always be open for you if you’d like to stay with us to get away for a little while. God bless you my friend, may Rita rest in peace. 🙏❤️

Thought the collective might enjoy my perforation project... I bought this tractor a couple months ago and turning it into a nice "user"... Won't be a perfect restoration, just a nice addition to my old Toyota 4x4. Rich

Picked this up yesterday. Was only an hour away. Seller said it was sitting for a few years so he had it serviced to get it running. Was asking $800. Got there & cranked w/no start. Ended up getting it for $300! Got it home & after using my small benchtop 20v blower to pressurize fuel tank it started right up! Everything appears to function. This will be new tractor to use with my Bervac. After the heat wave is over I'll go through it addressing maintenance & any possible needed repairs. Paint is faded so hopefully I can get it reconditioned. Have to get manuals printed off & definitely wanna address the "known issues" with this model. Onans are all new to me. 20260702_160202.mp4

Before COLOR TV there were colored strips that could be adhered to the screen to make the sky blue and the grass green when Bonanza was on. Made Hop Sing look a bit funky though.

I didn’t know 701 day was a thing! I will have to mark the calendar next year. Nice tractors everyone! 701 is my favorite model. This is mine that just bought at the big show. I love the patina on this thing!

For the 29th Annual Wheel Horse Show (that's next year folks.... next year) my buddy John Frock came up with the idea to let people who have never driven a Lever steer or Senior Model Wheel Horse a chance to experience and drive one of these models! They do take some getting used to when operating them as the Lever steer takes some hand and foot coaddition and the Senior does have some giddy go but quick steering. John and Wild Bill will let folks get the fun experience of operating the true Wheel Horse originals. Wild Bill 5683816651059863540.mp4

I'm in D.C. for the 4th of July, and visiting my son and his wife. Went to the Museum of the Bible today. They've been doing multiple flyovers and many more scheduled for tomorrow. They are going for a world's record over 18,600 fireworks. Happy Birthday, America.

    Torque settings for ORB fittings should be made in accordance with this chart. Too tight will kill the "O" Rings. You will need to use a crows foot placed to the side of the torque wrench to get a correct reading. JIC ORB Size SAE Thread Torque Size SAE Thread Torque 4 7/16-20 140 In/Lb 4 7/16-20 220 In/Lb 5 ½-20 180 In/Lb 5 ½-20 260 In/Lb Dash# 905 O Ring 6 9/16-18 250 In/Lb 6 9/16-18 320 In/Lb Dash# 906 O Ring 8 ¾-16 550 In/Lb 8 3/4 -16 560 In/Lb

I did get them pressure washed today and the 520 didn’t come out bad, it’s more pink than red but I think with some was it might get some color back but otherwise it’s in nice shape for the most part. It runs good but might need a carb cleaning in the near future as it has a surge down low but cleans up at wide open. It’s missing some pieces I’ll have to track down but right now I have the rear end draining of all the water/oil and the fuel tank out and trying to clean all the sludge out while I wait for the new Dorman universal fuel sender and grommet/shut off valve. The 314-8 came out okay everything is pretty much seized though from the steering to the clutch and brake pedals. The fuse box had been cut off the harness for some reason and some other bits but nothing that can’t be fixed in due time as it’s gonna need a lot already. The engine shows promise though it does turn over fine and has compression which is the biggest thing that’ll determine fixing it up as I intend to gift it to my brother when it’s finished. So it’s getting soaked down with whatever penetrating oil I have handy haha. Will try to get some pictures of them tomorrow though!

What is the difference between the 5025 and the 5053, and will the 5025 work (fit) on my 1967 Lawn Ranger?

It looks to me like it leaks from the hose that is 11 in. long that goes from front of valve assembly to back hole in the cylinder I have a friend that is coming over after the 4th who knows more about hydraulics to check it out and see where he thinks it is leaking.

The 20 HP has .030" more lift on the intake lobe and the carburetor has slightly different jetting. The idea that the 20 has more problems, in my opinion, is just Wisdom of the Crowd.

@MainelyWheelhorse How about if you sandwiched that piece with a piece of 1”x1”x1/8” angle iron? Not flat stock, angle iron with give it much greater strength.

Looks like PO didn't have the right size barrel lug so they split cable and used two smaller lugs. In itself is not bad but would not use for permanent connection. Reason being more contacts points, you are guessing size of barrel for conductor, and just not right.Just my option after working around electricity for over 50 years, although most was AC not DC, but many things very similar. I'd start with checking all your grounds and redoing the battery cables. That positive cable looks like it needed replaced 20 years ago.

Yesterday Eloise and Cylvia went camping! Our friend’s pusher “Cylvia” has the 8.3 Cummins that I longed for so badly. Eloise has the 7.2 3126 CAT. Accelerating to highway speeds, or off highway, I felt very light on the throttle. When we arrived to the campground about an hour and a half away, he mentioned how he could not keep up with me on take offs. Once again, the 100 hp lesser engine has impressed me! Happy 250th Independence Day, America!

Last week I replaced both rear axle seals and the brake shaft seal on my 1986 312-8. Next I am going to try to fix my worn out Carter carburetor. the housing where the throttle shaft goes into the carburetor is worn out. I am going to look at making a bushing in the machine shop to repair it as long as it is only the top that is worn out. Tractor runs ok like it is however it is running to lean.
